He scored 12 runs in Western Australia's only innings,with Colin Milburn,John Inverarity,and Murray Vernon all making centuries in the team's win by an innings and 118 runs. Despite being only 20 years old at the time of his debut,McEvoy did not play at state level again,although he did play several matches for state colts teams in the following seasons.

It started on 26 October 2017 and finished on 27 March 2018. The opening round of matches were played as day/night fixtures and the first three rounds of matches took place before the Ashes series. Victoria were the defending champions.
The 1967–68 Sheffield Shield season was the 66th season of the Sheffield Shield,the domestic first-class cricket competition of Australia. Western Australia won the championship. In October 1967,Ian Brayshaw of Western Australia took ten wickets in an innings against Victoria.
