Ice hockey in Bosnia and Herzegovina is governed by the Bosnia and Herzegovina Ice Hockey Federation. [1] [2] [3]

The BiH Hockey League was first held in the 2002–03 season. It was not resumed again until the 2009–10 season. [4]

The Bosnia and Herzegovina men's national ice hockey team participated in the 2008 IIHF World Championship Division III Qualification tournament. They lost 10–1 to Greece, and 18–1 to Armenia. The result against Armenia was later changed to a 5-0 Forfeit victory, as Armenia had used ineligible players, including Armenian Jur Kustan and Joshua Wilburs. Bosnia has been a member of the IIHF since May 8, 2001. [5]

The 2003 IIHF World U18 Championship Division III was a pair of international under-18 ice hockey tournaments run by the International Ice Hockey Federation. The Division III tournaments made up the fourth level of competition at the 2003 IIHF World U18 Championships. The Group A tournament took place between 5 and 8 March 2003 in Mexico City, Mexico and the Group B tournament took place between 6 and 9 February 2003 in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Group A competition was won by Australia while Iceland won the Group B tournament. Upon winning their respective tournaments both teams gained promotion to Division II of the 2004 IIHF World U18 Championships.

The 2005 IIHF World U18 Championship Division III Qualification was an international under-18 ice hockey tournament run by the International Ice Hockey Federation. The Division III Qualification fifth level of competition at the 2005 IIHF World U18 Championships and took place between 18 and 20 February 2005 in Ankara, Turkey. The tournament was won by Turkey who upon winning qualified to compete in the 2005 IIHF World U18 Championship Division III that was held in Sofia, Bulgaria.

The team is controlled by the Bosnia and Herzegovina Ice Hockey Federation, a member of the International Ice Hockey Federation. The 2015 IIHF World Championship Division III was an international ice hockey tournament run by the International Ice Hockey Federation. It was contested in İzmir, Turkey, from 3 to 12 April 2015. Seven nations participated, including Bosnia and Herzegovina, who joined the world championships for the first time since 2008. After three consecutive years of finishing in the second place, North Korea won the tournament and was promoted to Division II Group B for 2016.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2017 IIHF World Championship Division III</span> International ice hockey tournament

The 2017 IIHF World Championship Division III was an international ice hockey tournament run by the International Ice Hockey Federation. It was contested in Sofia, Bulgaria from 10 to 16 April 2017. Seven teams participated in the tournament, divided into two groups. Bosnia and Herzegovina was originally scheduled to participate, but withdrew before the tournament began; all their games were recorded as 5–0 forfeits for the opposing team. Luxembourg won the tournament, defeating Bulgaria 10–4 in the final, and played in Division IIB in 2018. Chinese Taipei debuted in Division III and, apart from defeating Bosnia and Herzegovina in a forfeit, recorded their first official win, beating the UAE 4–0 in the 5th place playoff.

The 2022 IIHF U18 World Championship Division III was two international under-18 ice hockey tournaments organised by the International Ice Hockey Federation. The Division III A and Division III B tournaments represent the sixth and the seventh tier of the IIHF World U18 Championship.

The Bosnia and Herzegovina women's national ice hockey team is the women's national ice hockey team of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The team is controlled by the Bosnia and Herzegovina Ice Hockey Federation, a member of the International Ice Hockey Federation.
