Igors Anatolyevich Bondarevs (born February 9, 1974, in Riga, Soviet Union) is a Latvian professional former ice hockey player.
He represented Latvia at four IIHF World Championships and the 2002 Winter Olympics. [1]

Igors Vihrovs is a Latvian gymnast, who won the gold medal in floor exercise at the 2000 Summer Olympics, and bronze in floor exercise in 2000 European Championships and 2001 World Championships. He was the first Olympic gold medalist for independent Latvia.
The Latvia men's national basketball team represents Latvia in international basketball. They are organized and run by the Latvian Basketball Association. Latvia has reached the European Basketball Championship 15 times, with their ultimate success occurring during the inter-war period, when they became the first team to win the tournament in 1935. Four years later, they had another impressive run to come away with the silver in 1939. Although after 1939, Latvia were forced to suspend their national team operations, due to the Occupation of the Baltic states during World War II. Latvia regained independence in 1991, with their national team taking part in international competition once again a year later.
Azerbaijan sent a delegation to compete at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy from 10–26 February 2006. The nation was making its third appearance at a Winter Olympics. The Azerbaijani delegation consisted of two athletes, an ice dancing team of American-born Kristin Fraser and Russian-born Igor Lukanin. They finished the competition in 19th place. As of the conclusion of these Olympics, Azerbaijan has never won a Winter Olympics medal.

Juan Carlos Lemus Garcia is a Cuban boxer, who won the gold medal in the men's Light Middleweight (71 kg) category at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona. Lemus also was awarded the gold medal at the 1987 Pan American Games, as well as the World Amateur Boxing Championships in 1991, beating the reigning champion at that time, Israel Akopkochyan.

He started out playing on the left of defense but, due to his offensive mentality, dribbling and technical abilities turned into a dynamic central midfielder. Igor Runov (Russian: Игорь Рунов; 8 February 1963 – 11 April 2011} was a Russian volleyball player who competed for the Soviet Union in the 1988 Summer Olympics and for the Unified Team in the 1992 Summer Olympics. In 1988, he was part of the Soviet team which won the silver medal in the Olympic tournament. He played four matches. Four years later, he finished seventh with the Unified Team in the 1992 Olympic tournament. He played six matches.

Guntis Peders is a retired Latvian athlete who specialised in the high hurdles. His biggest success is the silver medal at the 1996 European Indoor Championships in Stockholm, where his country, thanks to him and Igors Kazanovs, for the first time won two medals in one event. In addition, he represented Latvia at the 1996 Summer Olympics, as well as 1995 and 1997 World Championships.
