Independence Community College is a public community college in Independence, Kansas. It was formerly Independence Community Junior College.
Independence Community College was established in 1925 as grades 13 and 14 of the Independence public school system. In 1967, Independence Community College legally separated from the school district. Construction of the new community college on a 68-acre (28 ha) campus, formerly the Independence Country Club, began in 1969. Classes at the new site began in September 1970. The ICC campus is now home to the Academic Building, Fine Arts Building, Student Union, Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Field House, Administration Building, William Inge Center for the Arts, fitness center, athletic practice fields, disc golf course, 96-bed multi-structure living complex, a 200-bed residence hall, and a 135-bed suite-style residence hall. [3] In 2010, a former large retail space was donated at a location next to the local Wal-Mart. The college renovated the new West Campus, increasing the college's visibility in the community and adding much-needed space for technical programs. A capital campaign was conducted, raising $760,000 for renovation of the facility. The college has also contributed approximately $350,000 to the renovation of that building. This campus is located on the west side of Independence and is home to Allied Health, Cosmetology, Veterinary Technology, and Culinary. ICC also maintains a presence downtown through the ICC Foundation office, which is a separate organization from the college.

Independence Community College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and offers several associate degrees along with more than 20 certificate programs in vocational occupations. [4]
The ICC athletic teams are called the Pirates and the official team colors are Navy Blue and Vegas Gold. The college is affiliated with the National Junior College Athletic Association and is a member of the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference. As of Fall of 2018, there will be nine athletic programs on campus: football, [5] volleyball, [6] cheer and dance, [7] men's and women's basketball, [8] [9] women's softball, golf, [10] Throughout the course of the academic year, students have the opportunity to cheer on their Pirates at over 100 home games.
Independence Community College offers a handful of different activities for students to participate in outside of sports. There is a book club that meets once a week and decides together what books to read and discuss. The Buccaneer [11] is the campus newspaper that is composed of articles written by students and staff alike. Open Mic Nights allow students, employees, and community members to read or perform their original or favorite literary or musical works. ICC also has a multi-cultural student organization (MSO) whose purpose is to bring together students of different cultural backgrounds and foster an attitude of acceptance. Phi Theta Kappa [12] is an honor society for junior colleges and ICC's chapter was ranked in the top 100 out of 1,100 active chapters. Every few months the campus also sponsors some sort of intramural tournament that generally lasts about two days.
ICC is also home to the William Inge Center for the Arts, [13] named after famous playwright, William Inge, an alumnus of the college. [14] The center is home to the Inge Festival which is a four-day festival in which community members and students alike can participate in workshops, attend plays, and tour the historical sites around town that were part of Inge's childhood. [15] The campus library is also home to a collection of original manuscripts, William Inge's personal book collection and his personal record collection.
In 2014, Fab Lab ICC was constructed in the former Cessna Learning Center on ICC main campus. Fab Lab ICC houses tools for digital fabrication, small business development, graphic design, computer aided manufacturing, and rapid prototyping. Public memberships are available, and ICC students, faculty, and staff receive a Fab Lab ICC membership for free. [16]
The University of Northern Iowa (UNI) is a public university in Cedar Falls, Iowa, United States. UNI offers more than 90 majors across five colleges. The fall 2023 total enrollment was 9,021 students.
Weber State University is a public university in Ogden, Utah, United States. It was founded in 1889 as Weber Stake Academy and earned its current name in 1991.
Kentucky Wesleyan College (KWC) is a private Methodist college in Owensboro, Kentucky. Fall 2018 enrollment was 830 students.
Ottawa University (OU) is a private Baptist university with its main campus in Ottawa, Kansas. It also has a second residential campus in Surprise, Arizona, and adult campuses in the Kansas City and Milwaukee metropolitan areas, as well as online. It was founded in 1865 and is affiliated with the Ottawa Tribe of Oklahoma and the American Baptist Churches USA. The residential campus in Ottawa has a student enrollment of more than 875 students, while the OUAZ campus in Surprise has more than 900. In total, Ottawa University serves more than 4,000 students across all of its campuses and online.
University of Wisconsin–Platteville is a public university in Platteville, Wisconsin, United States. Part of the University of Wisconsin System, it offers bachelor's and master's degrees across three colleges and enrolls approximately 6,500 students as of 2022.
Utah Tech University (UT), and formerly known as the Dixie State University (DSU), is a polytechnic 4-year public university in St. George, Utah, in southwest Utah. UT offers doctoral degrees, master's degrees, bachelor's degrees, associate degrees, and certifications. As of fall 2022, there are 12,556 students enrolled at UT.
Newman University is a private Catholic university in Wichita, Kansas, United States. It is named for John Henry Newman and was founded by the Adorers of the Blood of Christ in 1933.
William Penn University is a private university in Oskaloosa, Iowa, United States. It was founded by members of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) in 1873 as Penn College. In 1933, the name was changed to William Penn College, and finally to William Penn University in 2000.
Park University is a private university in Parkville, Missouri, United States. It was founded in 1875. In the fall of 2023, Park had an enrollment of 6,389 students.
East Mississippi Community College (EMCC), formerly East Mississippi Junior College, is a public community college in Scooba, Mississippi. EMCC serves and is supported by Clay, Kemper, Lauderdale, Lowndes, Noxubee and Oktibbeha counties in east central Mississippi. The college has two principal campuses in Scooba and Mayhew, Mississippi and offers courses at five other locations. One of fifteen community colleges in Mississippi, EMCC is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award the Associate of Applied Science degree and the Associate of Arts degree.
Modesto Junior College (MJC) is a public community college in Modesto, California. It is part of Yosemite Community College District along with Columbia College. MJC, and Columbia College, belong to the California Community College system along with 112 other public community colleges. The college has two campuses in Modesto. The East Campus is the original campus while the West Campus is the larger of the two. Courses are provided in general education, lower-division transfer programs, occupational and developmental education.
Aurora University (AU) is a private university in Aurora, Illinois, United States. Established in 1893 as a seminary of the Advent Christian Church, the university has been independent since 1971. Approximately 6,200 students are enrolled in the university's undergraduate and graduate programs.
Maine Central Institute (MCI) is an independent high school in Pittsfield, Maine, United States that was established in 1866. The school enrolls approximately 430 students and is a nonsectarian institution. The school has both boarding and day students.

Northwest Mississippi Community College is a public community college in Senatobia, Mississippi. It was founded in 1928. As of August 2008, Northwest's enrollment exceeds 7,100 students. There are approximately 3,000 students on the Senatobia campus—1,100 of which reside in the college's residence halls. Slightly over 3,000 students are enrolled at the DeSoto Center in Southaven, Mississippi, and nearly 1,200 are enrolled at the Lafayette-Yalobusha Center in Oxford, Mississippi.

It is part of the Illinois Community College System and its district, Illinois Community College District 514, is a 2,322-square-mile (6,010 km2) includes most of Peoria, Tazewell, and Woodford counties and parts of Bureau, Logan, Marshall, Livingston, McLean, Stark, and Mason counties.
Fort Scott Community College is a public community college in Fort Scott, Kansas. It has satellite buildings in other cities in Crawford County, including Pittsburg and Frontenac, along with sites in Paola and at the Hillsdale Learning Center.
D. W. Daniel High School is a comprehensive public high school serving students in grades nine through twelve in the town of Central, South Carolina, United States. Besides Central, it also serves Clemson and Six Mile. It is in Pickens County and is the one of four high schools administered by the School District of Pickens County (SDPC). The Daniel Lions football team are a multiple time 3A state champion in the SCHSL.
