The PanAm Sports Independent Athletes competed at the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile from October 20 to November 5, 2023. The team was made up of athletes from Guatemala, whose NOC was suspended by International Olympic Committee during the games and was therefore not allowed to compete under its flag.
Sport climber Emilio Flores and swimmer Lucero Mejia were the teams flagbearers during the opening ceremony. [1] Meanwhile, bowler Diego Aguilar and roller speed skater Dalia Soberanes were the delegation's flagbearers during the closing ceremony.
