Ingela Strandberg (born 26 February 1944) [1] is a Swedish poet, children's writer, novelist, playwright, translator, journalist and musician. She gained recognition with her novel Mannen som trodde att han var Fritiof Andersson (The Man who Thought he was Fritiof Andersson) in 1983. [2]
Born in Grimeton near Varberg in the Halland region of southern Sweden, her poetry frequently evokes her home landscape. Her most recent publication is Den stora tystnaden vid Sirius nos (The Great Silence of Sirius' Nose) published in 2014. Strandberg has also shown interest in music with her CD "Låt dom aldrig ta dig" (Don't Ever Let Them Take You) released in 2000. She has even been a screenwriter, creating Blank päls och starka tassar (Shiny Coat and Strong Paws) for television in 1993. [3] [4] She embarked on her literary career in 1974, concentrating mainly on poetry, some of which has been translated into English and French. [5]
In December 2014, Strandberg was awarded the Swedish Academy's Bellman Prize for her outstanding contribution to Swedish poetry. [6] She had already received the Dobloug Prize in 2009. [2]
The Hootenanny Singers are a popular folk group from Sweden, founded in 1961. The group included Björn Ulvaeus, who later became a member of ABBA. Other band members were Johan Karlberg, Tonny Rooth and Hansi Schwarz. The group was named "The Northern Lights" for a US-released LP in 1966.

Samfundet De Nio is a Swedish literary society founded on 14 February 1913 in Stockholm by a testamentary donation from writer Lotten von Kraemer. The society has nine members who are elected for life. Its purpose is to promote Swedish literature, peace and women's issues. It mainly presents a number of literary awards. It was started as an alternative to the Swedish Academy and is often compared to its more noted cousin.

Play is a 2011 Swedish drama film directed by Ruben Östlund and written by Östlund and Erik Hemmendorff. Inspired by actual court cases, it portrays a group of black boys who rob a smaller group of white boys by means of a psychological game. The film was heavily debated in the Swedish press. It won the Nordic Council Film Prize in 2012.
Karl Gunnar Harding is a Swedish poet, novelist, essayist and translator, considered 'one of Sweden's foremost poets'. Among his other poetry collections is Starnberger See from 1977. Among his novels is Luffaren Svarta Hästen from 1977. He published the children's book Mannen och paraplyet in 1990. He was awarded the Dobloug Prize in 2011.

Hilda Augusta Amanda Kerfstedt, née Hallström, was a Swedish novelist, playwright and translator. She was a popular and noted writer in late 19th and early 20th century Sweden, and participated in the public debate. She was also engaged in the movement for women's rights, and active in the Fredrika Bremer Association and Married Woman's Property Rights Association. As a feminist, she focused on the debate around sexual equality, and was critical to the contemporary sexual double standards for men and women. As such, she was one of the participants in the Nordic sexual morality debate, the public debate in Swedish papers, books and plays, which took place during the 1880s. Kerfstedt was a member of the women's association Nya Idun and one of its first committee members. She was the editor of the feminist paper Dagny, the publication of the Fredrika Bremer Association, in 1888–1891. She was especially noted within the debate on children's literature.

Omkring tiggarn från Luossa is a poem by the Swedish proletarian author Dan Andersson. Its nine four-line verses, with a ABAB rhyming scheme, create a picture of longing for something beyond the visible world. The poem was published in his 1917 poetry collection Svarta ballader. It has become well-known through popular recordings by musicians including the Hootenanny Singers, Thorstein Bergman, and Sofia Karlsson.
Astrid Lindgren’s plays are a number of theater plays written by Astrid Lindgren in the 1940s to 1970s. Part of the plays are based on her books, other stories were only written for theater. Since almost all of Astrid Lindgren's works have been staged for theater, this page only deals with the plays, whose scripts were written by Astrid Lindgren. Many of these works were published in the Swedish books Sex Pjäser för barn och ungdom (1950), Serverat, Ers Majestät! (1955) and Praeser för barn och ungdom. Other Samlingen (1968). Most of these works have not been translated into English. These include stories about well-known characters such as Kalle Blomquist or Pippi Longstocking, which were only written for the theater and were not published as prose.
Inga-Britt Margareta Fredholm was a Swedish secretary, archivist and author. She spent more than ten years serving as Evert Taube’s literary secretary, both in Sweden and abroad. She collected and edited Taube's stories for Bonniers' and contributed a total of twenty pieces of work on the national poet.
