The International Carrom Federation (ICF) is the international governing body for the game of carrom. Such an organisation was first proposed in the 1950s, but the ICF was not formed until October 1988, when delegates from India, Sri Lanka, the Maldives, Malaysia, Germany and Switzerland met in Madras, India, for the first World Carrom Congress, at which the ICF was formed and an international set of rules was adopted.

The International Carrom Federation (ICF) is an association governed by Swiss law founded in 1988 in Chennai, India.

Currently the head office is based in Zurich, Switzerland.

As of November 2024, the Federation had 19 member associations. [1] In addition, some continental confederations of national associations have been formed, including the Asian Carrom Confederation. [2] The ICF has authorized the formation of continental confederations for Africa, Asia, Europe, Oceania and the Americas, although not all of these continents have member associations. [3]

It was created by former AFC president Mohammed Bin Hammam as the AFC's plan for a continent-wide programme to raise the standards of Asian football. The AFC Challenge Cup was created for teams to experience playing in a continental competition, with the possibility to win an AFC trophy and potentially discover new talents.

It aims to maintain Asia as the benchmark for world badminton in many years to come. It now has 43 member federations. Asia Netball, formerly the Asian Netball Federation, Asian Federation of Netball Associations (AFNA) and Netball Asia, is the governing body of netball in Asia. Netball Asia was founded in 1986 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, three years after representatives from five Asian netball countries – Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka and India – met during the 1983 Netball World Championships in Singapore to discuss the creation of an Asian netball governing body. The 2016 Carrom World Championship, was the 7th edition of an international Carrom tournament governed by the International Carrom Federation, contested from 7 to 11 November 2016 in Birmingham, United Kingdom. Fifteen countries had competed in the tournament.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2019 Asian Athletics Championships</span> International athletics championship event

The 2019 Asian Athletics Championships was the 23rd edition of the Asian Athletics Championships. It was held from 21 to 24 April 2019 at the Khalifa International Stadium in Doha, Qatar. During the closing ceremony of the 22nd Asian Athletics Championships in Bhubaneswar India, President of Asian Athletics Association (AAA) Dahlan Al Hamad officially handed over the AAA Flag to Qatar Olympic Committee Secretary-General and Qatar Athletics Federation President Thani Abdulrahman Al Kuwari. The event was at the Khalifa International Stadium and it served as the test event for the 2019 World Athletics Championships which were held at the same venue.

The 2018 Carrom World Cup was the 5th edition of the Carrom World Cup which held in the city of Chuncheon, South Korea for 7 days from 23 August to 26 August. This was staged as the first international carrom tournament since the 2016 Carrom World Championship and also marked the first Carrom World Cup to be held in South Korea. The World Cup was hosted in Chuncheon as a part of the 2018 World Leisure Games which includes other sports such as ice hockey, slalom, taekwondo and darts. Sri Lanka won the men's Carrom World Cup and India won the women's World Cup tournament in their respective finals mayil is the winner.

Kajal Kumari is an Indian female carrom player who represents India internationally and also works as an officer at the Indian Oil. During the 2018 Carrom World Cup, she created history by becoming the first ever woman to clinch the overall combined Swiss League title after defeating defending Swiss League champion Chamil Cooray of Sri Lanka in the combined Swiss League final.

The 8th edition of the ICF Carrom cup was held in Pune, India from 2 to 6 December 2019. This was the 3rd consecutive ICF cup India has hosted. India won the men's team event and women's team event title.

Prashant More is an Indian carrom player. He is a two time carrom world champion in 2016 and 2018.

The Asian Gymnastics Union (AGU) is the governing body of gymnastics in Asia. It is one of the five continental confederations making up the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG). AGU was formed in October 1964 during the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo (Japan), with Japan, South Korea, China and Philippines being the founder members. AGU has headquarters in Qatar and consists of 37 member federations.
