The International Chamber Music Festival in Plovdiv [1] [2] [3] was founded in 1964 by a group of music enthusiasts, [4] with the support of the Plovdiv Municipality and the Ministry of Culture.

The first edition of the festival was held from June 1 to June 12, 1964, in the Ethnographic Museum in the Old Plovdiv Architectural and Historical Complex. [5] From its very beginning this event emerged as a promising creative endeavor, which quickly became an international venue for performances by renowned classical musicians, and a chance for the young musical talents of Bulgaria to witness world-class professionalism. Some of the founders and organizers are Vladimir Avramov, Alexandar Neynski, Dobrin Petkov, Marko Mesholam, the municipal institutions of Plovdiv, and the Bulgarian Concert Agency (Sofia).
With each year the music event established itself as a tradition for the city and the region, featuring in its long history the names of many celebrated musicians, such as Yfrah Neaman, Michael Frischenschlager, the duo Emil Kamilarov and Dina Schneidermann, Stoika Milanova, Yuri Bukov, Mincho Minchev, and many more, premiere performances of musical compositions, celebrations of composers, conductors, ensembles, and solo performers of chamber music.
During its half-century history the Festival has been organized and managed in different ways and methods, but its invariable aim has been to offer performances by some of the best chamber artists to the Plovdiv audience.
A foundation of the same name was created in the 1980s, and active members in it were the conductor Plamen Djurov, Jivko Jekov (director of the Regional Concert Agency), Georgi Ivanov, and others.
The selection and preparation of the annual festival programs are performed by an advisory board, on which have served distinguished Bulgarian musicians – Anastas Slavchev, Georgi Kanev, Alexandar Spirov, Krikor Chetinyan, Julian Kujumdziev, Plina Kujumdzieva, Veselin Emanuilov, Adelina Kaludova, Julia Manolova, Polia Paunova-Tosheva, and others.
In 2008 the new market circumstances for the cultural processes in the country demanded the creation and application of a statute for the preparation, organization, and realization of the Festival, as a means and grounds for its renovation and contemporary image. As defined in the established statute, the International Chamber Music Festival – Plovdiv is managed and directed by a coordinating council with the Plovdiv Municipality, presided by the Head of the Culture Department, and producer and organizer is the ‘Interart Fest’ Association. Dimitar Malashinov is a long-standing manager of the Festival.
During the period 1986–2016 the Festival has been organized by the Muzika Agency, the Interart Fes’ Association, and their long-time manager Dimitar Malashinov.

Koprivshtitsa is a historic town in the Koprivshtitsa Municipality in Sofia Province, central Bulgaria, lying on the Topolnitsa River among the Sredna Gora mountains. The Rousse Philharmonic Orchestra was a Bulgarian orchestra working between 1948–2010. Some of the best Bulgarian conductors—Konstantin Iliev, Dobrin Petkov, Sasha Popov, Russlan Raychev, Ilia Temkov, Alexander Vladigerov, Tzanko Delibozov and Georgi Dimitrov among others, have worked with this orchestra. Since 2005 the General Music Director of the Rousse Philharmonic Orchestra is Maestro Nayden Todorov.
Kalofer is a town in central Bulgaria, located on the banks of the Tundzha between the Balkan Mountains to the north and the Sredna Gora to the south. Kalofer is part of Plovdiv Province and the Karlovo municipality. It is best known as the birthplace of Bulgarian poet and revolutionary Hristo Botev.

Music Idol was the Bulgarian version of the British television hit show Pop Idol. It was a talent contest to determine the superior pop performer. Its first season was aired on bTV from February 26 until June 7, 2007. During its third season, the show went international and auditions took place in neighboring Macedonia. Other major changes in the third season: minimum age for participants 13, more talk show than music, great accent on the hosts, hidden vote results, which makes it impossible to validate the result of each elimination.

Gabala International Music Festival is an annual festival of classical music held every summer beginning in 2009 in Gabala, Azerbaijan. The festival is organised with the support of Heydar Aliyev Foundation at the initiative of the rector of the Baku Academy of Music Farhad Badalbeyli and conductor Dmitri Yablonski. At this festival, musicians perform in the open air. Participants have included musicians from Europe, the US and Israel, as well as musicians from republics of the former USSR. In 2009, a contest of young pianists was held at the same time with the musical festival. Jazz and mugham evenings were held along with classical music concerts. In 2010, the festival was held on August. General director of UNESCO Irina Bokova was in the opening ceremony of the festival. The festival began with the performance of overture from Uzeyir Hajibeyov's "Koroglu" opera as in 2009. Opening ceremony of the festival was charged to Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Such musicians as Dmitri Yablonski, Yuri Bashmet, Khloe Khanslip and other Azerbaijani and foreign musicians took part in the festival. In 2011, the festival lasted from July 15 to August 5.
The history and development of jazz in Bulgaria was significantly influenced by the cultural and political changes in the country during the 20th century, which led to the emergence of a genre blending western jazz styles with Bulgarian folk music influences.
Hasan and Ibrahim Ignatov are Bulgarian twin pianists. Along with Krisia Todorova, they represented Bulgaria in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2014 in Malta with the song "Planet of the Children". Like Todorova, Hasan and Ibrahim also participated in Slavi's Show on bTV. They released their first collection of their own compositions at the age of 11.
The International Exhibition in Plovdiv was an international exhibition that was held from June 7 to July 7 of 1991 in the city of Plovdiv, Bulgaria, under the theme of "The creative activity of young inventors at the service of a world peace." The exhibition was coordinated by the Bureau International des Expositions.

Chitalishte "Hristo Botev 1884" is a chitalishte, or cultural center, situated in the town of Botevgrad, western Bulgaria. It was founded in 1884 by a group of local teachers under the name Chitalishte “Progress". Among them were Dimitar Tsokov, Nikola Cholakov, Georgi Petrov. They distributed books, newspapers and magazines, organized readings and lectures.
Georgi Dimitrov was a Bulgarian composer. He was notable for composing the music for the national anthem of Bulgaria from 1947 until 1951, Republiko nasha, zdravey!. Other notable compositions including Foot and Cross, Kulak, and The Chervenkov Way.
