The International School of Port of Spain is an international school in Westmoorings, Trinidad and Tobago. It is a private, co-educational day school offering pre-kindergarten through grade 12 classes. The school opened in September 1994.
The school has around 445 students.[ date missing ] ISPS students have frequented the most prestigious universities in England, Canada and the United States.
The school is governed by a Board of Directors with seven primary members, each of whom has an alternate. Six of the directors are elected from the Parent-Teacher Organization and 8 are representatives of major corporate sponsors of the School, including the U.S. Embassy. The school is operated with the consent and support of the Government of Trinidad and Tobago.
The International School of Port of Spain (ISPS) is an academic college-preparatory school located west of the capital city of Port of Spain in Westmoorings. The school offers a comprehensive curriculum that includes Spanish as a foreign language from grade 2. Alongside core academic subjects, all students participate in art, music, physical education, drama, health, and computer studies.
The school is structured into separate elementary, middle, and high schools. Since August 1997, ISPS has been offering Advanced Placement courses. Additionally, there is a program designed to support students with mild learning difficulties. The school holds accreditation from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.[ citation needed ]
In the 2022-23 school year, there were 62 total staff, comprising 45 teachers; 7 of which are U.S. citizens, 32 are host-country nationals and 6 are third-country nationals. [1] The director facilitates a number of educational initiatives within the school and local community.
At the beginning of the 2022-23 school year, enrollment was 245. Of the total, 55 were U.S. citizens, 109 were host-country nationals and 81 were third-country nationals. [1]
ISPS operates on a purpose-built campus that was established in May 1999 on reclaimed land. The campus features various instructional spaces, including a multi-purpose hall, cafeteria, three computer labs, four science labs, two art rooms, and a library/media center. With 30 classrooms and a fully air-conditioned gymnasium, the campus also provides athletic fields, asphalt play yards, a sandy playground, and enclosed activity areas.
The school encourages student participation in the arts and athletics, offering numerous opportunities for students to explore and enhance their abilities in these areas.
In the year 2016-2017, Domestic Tuitions (students who are either: citizens & residents of Trinidad & Tobago, or a residents in Trinidad and Tobago under CSME regulations) were as follows: PK: $8,000-$13,290; Kdg.-grade 5: $13,870; grades 6-8: $15,866, and grades 9-12: $17,589. International Tuitions (students who are internationally mobile, affiliated with multinational businesses, affiliated with multinational agencies, affiliated with diplomatic organizations or who are not permanent residents of Trinidad & Tobago) are: PK: $10,000-$13,290; Kdg.-grade 5: $19,166; grades 6-8: $19,510; and grade 9-12: $19,858. Port of Spain, officially the City of Port of Spain, is the capital of Trinidad and Tobago and the third largest municipality, after Chaguanas and San Fernando. The city has a municipal population of 49,031, an urban population of 544,949 and a transient daily population of 250,000. It is located on the Gulf of Paria, on the northwest coast of the island of Trinidad and is part of a larger conurbation stretching from Chaguaramas in the west to Arima in the east with an estimated population of 600,000.
The University of the West Indies (UWI), originally University College of the West Indies, is a public university system established to serve the higher education needs of the residents of 18 English-speaking countries and territories in the Caribbean: Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, The Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, Montserrat, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, and Turks and Caicos Islands. Each country is either a member of the Commonwealth of Nations or a British Overseas Territory. The aim of the university is to help "unlock the potential for economic and cultural growth" in the West Indies, thus allowing improved regional autonomy. The university was originally instituted as an independent external college of the University of London.
Couva is an urban town in west-central Trinidad, south of Port of Spain and Chaguanas and north of San Fernando and Point Fortin. It is the capital and main urban centre of Couva–Tabaquite–Talparo, and the Greater Couva area includes the Point Lisas industrial estate and the port of Point Lisas. It is one of the fastest-growing towns in the country. Couva's southern boundary is at the village of California and Point Lisas, and to the north Couva stretches to McBean. To the east of Couva is Preysal. To the west of Couva is the road to Waterloo and Carli Bay, which are located on the Gulf of Paria. Couva was part of the Caroni County. Couva is considered a major power base for the United National Congress, whose headquarters was previously located here.

The Awty International School is a private school located in Spring Branch, western Houston, Texas, United States. Founded in 1956, Awty allows its students to receive the International Baccalaureate or the French Baccalauréat, and is the only school in Houston fully accredited by the French Ministry of Education, making it the only overseas school for French national students in the Houston area. Westmoorings is a residential area in the region of Diego Martin on the island Trinidad, west of Port of Spain, the capital of Trinidad and Tobago. This suburb consists of mainly lower middle class to upper-class families and is generally known throughout the country for its upscale housing and expatriate population. This area mainly consists of small apartments and large upscale houses. It also has a few offshore moorings, a mall, a government college, the International School of Port of Spain, and a private primary school, Dunross Preparatory School. It is bordering the sea and Diego Martin river.

The University of the Southern Caribbean (USC) is a private university owned and operated by the Caribbean Union Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. The main campus is located on 384 acres (1.55 km2) of land in the Maracas Valley on the island of Trinidad of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. There are also six satellite extension campuses located in Scarborough, Trinidad and Tobago; San Fernando, Trinidad and Tobago; Georgetown, Guyana; Bridgetown, Barbados; Castries, St. Lucia; and St. John's, Antigua and Barbuda. One other satellite campus is in the planning for St. George's, Grenada.
Dunross Preparatory School is a private primary school located in Westmoorings, Trinidad and Tobago. It is the only school in Trinidad and Tobago that is owned by a cooperative society.
Carol Morgan School is a private international, college-preparatory school located in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. The school is formatted based on the American education system and is accredited by Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.
University of the West Indies at Cave Hill is a public research university in Cave Hill, Barbados. It is one of five general campuses in the University of the West Indies system.
