Hello Brother is a 1994 Indian Telugu-language action comedy film, produced by K. L. Narayana and directed by E. V. V. Satyanarayana. It stars Nagarjuna, Ramya Krishna and Soundarya, with music composed by Raj–Koti. The film is loosely based on the Hong Kong action comedy Twin Dragons (1992). In turn, Hello Brother spawned several of its own remakes, twice in Hindi as Judwaa (1997) and its reboot Judwaa 2 (2017) and in Kannada as Cheluva (1997). The film was the highest grossing Telugu movie of 1994.

Salur Koteshwara Rao, known professionally as Koti, is an Indian composer and singer who predominantly works in Telugu films. He has composed music for over 475 films. The son of veteran composer S. Rajeswara Rao, in early 1980s Koti teamed with Somaraju (Raj), son of T. V. Raju, and the resulting duo was known as Raj–Koti. The duo composed music for about 180 films from their debut in 1983 till their separation in 1994. After the separation, Koti has composed music and background score for more than 350 movies. He won the Nandi Award for Best Music Director for the film Hello Brother (1994).

The film was remade in Telugu as Intlo Illalu Vantintlo Priyuralu, in Hindi as Gharwali Baharwali and in Kannada as Naanu Nanna Hendthiru. Master Mahendran won the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Child Artist.

Soundarya was an Indian actress who worked predominantly in Telugu films in addition to Kannada and Tamil films. She made her film debut through the Kannada film Gandharva (1992). The following year, she debuted in Telugu and Tamil with the films Manavarali Pelli and Ponnumani respectively. She received critical acclaim for her role in the latter. Between 1993 & 1994, she appeared in several commercially successful Telugu films, notably Rajendrudu Gajendrudu, Mayalodu, Number One and Hello Brother. However, she had her career breakthrough with Ammoru (1995), a film which garnered her the Filmfare Award for Best Actress – Telugu. In 1996, she featured in the highly successful film Pavitra Bandham and won the Nandi Award for Best Actress. The success of these films established her as the leading actress of Telugu cinema. She achieved further success with films like Pelli Chesukundam, Choodalani Vundi, Dongaata and Arunachalam, the latter being her first venture with Rajinikanth.
