The Inventing Letters EP is the first release by Vancouver, British Columbia band The Belle Game. It was released digitally on November 10, 2009. Physical copies were made available in January 2010, though only 300 of them were manufactured.

The EP has received numerous positive reviews from across Canada, especially blogs, [1] [2] [3] and it has propelled the band far into the Canadian music scene since its release in 2009. The first track, entitled "Shoulders & Turns", was put into heavy rotation on the Vancouver radio station the Shore 104.3 FM in April 2010 until August 2010, when the fourth track, "Tiny Fires", was put into full rotation on the Shore as the band's second single. "Tiny Fires" is also currently played in light rotation on CBC National Radio.
In June 2010, The Belle Game entered an acoustic version of "Tiny Fires" into a radio competition being held by the Shore 104.3 FM called the Shore Sounds of Summer Song Search, and the band quickly made it into the top 10 finalists. [4] Eventually, in August 2010, the band was awarded the Fan Favourite Award in the contest for having received the most votes for their song entry. [5]

Metric is a Canadian indie rock band founded in 1998 in Toronto, Ontario. The band consists of Emily Haines, James Shaw, Joshua Winstead and Joules Scott-Key. The band started in 1998 as a duo formed by Haines and Shaw with the name "Mainstream". After releasing an EP titled Mainstream EP, they changed the band's name to Metric.
Thornley was a Canadian post-grunge and hard rock band formed by Ian Thornley in 2002. The band was started when Thornley returned to Toronto after the break-up of his earlier band, Big Wreck. With the help of Chad Kroeger of Nickelback, Thornley signed to Kroeger's 604 Records. The last line-up of the band as Thornley had Paulo Neta (guitar), Dave McMillan, Christopher Henry (drums) and the former member of Big Wreck Brian Doherty (guitar). As of 2010, this line-up plays under the name Big Wreck.
CFOX-FM is a Canadian radio station in Vancouver, British Columbia. It broadcasts on an assigned frequency of 99.3 MHz on the FM band with an effective radiated power of 100,000 watts (peak). The transmitter is located on Mount Seymour in the District of North Vancouver, with studios located in Downtown Vancouver, in the TD Tower. The station is owned by Corus Entertainment. CFOX has a modern rock format, as it reports to Mediabase as a Canadian alternative rock station.

The Walls are an Irish rock band. They were formed in 1998 by two ex-members of The Stunning – brothers Steve and Joe Wall. Their debut album Hi-Lo was released in 2000 and included the singles "Bone Deep", "Something's Wrong" and "Some Kind of a Girl". The Walls supported U2 at their second show in Slane Castle in 2001. A number of songs from Hi-Lo featured in movies: Goldfish Memory, On the Edge, and Dead Bodies. In 2002 they released the single "To the Bright and Shining Sun", which was used on an Irish TV commercial and reached number 11 in the Irish Singles Chart. The subsequent album New Dawn Breaking (2005) included "To the Bright and Shining Sun" and three other singles: "Drowning Pool", "Passing Through" and "Black and Blue". The 2013 movie Begin Again starring Keira Knightley and Mark Ruffalo features "Drowning Pool" over the opening credits. The first track on the album "Open Road" proved a favourite with Nic Harcourt on his KCRW show Morning Becomes Eclectic and he invited the band to play a session on the show in 2006. They played SXSW in Austin, Texas, a few days beforehand. The following year the band travelled to Australia and played their first shows there, opening up for Crowded House on the latter's first reunion gigs. The Walls opened the shows in Sydney and Melbourne and also performed their own gigs in both of those cities. The band's third album Stop the Lights was released in 2012. In March 2013, the band played their first shows in Russia and performed live on the Evening Urgant show. They returned the following year.

The song was released as the second single from the band's third studio album Day & Age on November 4, 2008, as a digital download on iTunes, and as 7" and promo CD in the US, Canada and the UK. It has been released to radio in Australia and has gone into regular rotation on Triple J. This song was number 17 on Rolling Stone's list of the 100 Best Songs of 2008. The song has been used regularly as the opening song during the band's tour.
Olenka and the Autumn Lovers are a Canadian indie folk band from Vancouver, British Columbia. Fronted by Polish-born singer-songwriter Olenka Krakus, the band's sound is a mix of orchestral folk-pop with elements reminiscent of classic country and folk music, and Eastern European folk. Bunkface is a Malaysian rock band formed in 2006. The band consists of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Sam (Shamsul Anuar), bass guitarist Youk (Farouk Jaafar), lead guitarist Paan (Ahmad Farhan), and drummer Biak (Alif Sufian). The name Bunkface was suggested by Biak which was influenced from the Sum 41 song titled "Crazy Amanda Bunkface". Popular songs by Bunkface include Silly Lily, Situasi, Revolusi, Prom Queen, Through My Window, Ekstravaganza, Rentak Laguku, Malam Ini Kita Punya, Darah Muda and Masih Di Sini. Their fanbase are called "Bunkers".
AM Conspiracy was an American alternative metal band from Orlando, Florida, formed in 2005. Their current lineup consists of Jason "Gong" Jones, who was member of the band Drowning Pool when they recorded the album Desensitized, (vocals), Dean Andrews (drums), Kenny Harrelson, Drew Burke (guitar), and Rob DeHaven (guitar).

The Belle Game, aka Belle Game, was an indie pop band originating from Vancouver, British Columbia and active from 2009 to 2020. Its members were Adam Nanji (guitar), Andrea Lo, and Katrina Jones. Drummer Rob Chursinoff left in 2014; drummer and guitarist Alex Andrew left in 2018. For a short time, bassist Ian Cook and trumpeter Andrew Lee were also part of the band. The name is a play on the literal translation, from German, of Glockenspiel.
Zaac Pick is a Canadian singer-songwriter. Born in Medicine Hat, Alberta, he currently resides in Vancouver, British Columbia. Formerly part of the Vancouver based band Doubting Paris as a guitarist, Pick began his solo project and released his debut EP Fierce Wind in 2009. The record was produced by producer and friend Daniel Mendez who has also worked on Dashboard Confessional and Duran Duran albums. Pick's music was featured in a few television shows, including CW network drama One Tree Hill and CBS'sThe Ghost Whisperer. His former band Doubting Paris has also earned spots on MTV hits Joan of Arcadia, The Real World, and America's Next Top Model. The band has also opened for Pilot Speed, Keane, and David Usher. Recently, Pick was selected as the winner of the 104.3 Shore FM competition with a grand prize of $20,000. In October 2010, he played a show to help raise funds for flood victims in Pakistan. Pick has performed extensively in Western Canada and will be performing in the Canadian Music Fest in Toronto in 2011. He can be heard with a band that consists of drums, bass, electric guitar, cello, and violin in addition to solo performances. He is a frequent collaborator with composer and violinist Caleb Chan and cellist Brian Chan. According to an interview with Scout Magazine, Pick was a former league bowler.
I Am Giant is a rock band based in London, United Kingdom. They formed in West Auckland, New Zealand in late 2008 and released their debut album The Horrifying Truth on 1 August 2011 in Australia and New Zealand, where it has been certified Gold and delivered four Rock Chart No. 1's. The album was released in Asia on 23 March 2012, and in Europe and US on 8 October 2012.
