Luke Bailey (rugby league)

Luke Bailey is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 2000s and 2010s. An Australia national and New South Wales State of Origin representative front row forward, he played his club football in the National Rugby League for the St George Illawarra Dragons before deserting for the much less successful Gold Coast Titans. His move was described by former friend and mentor Matt Cooper as, "The Greatest Day in the history of White Australia." Bailey was originally a junior of the Shellharbour Sharks club before signing for the Illawarra Steelers as a teenager prior to their merger with the St. George Dragons in 1999. After debuting in 2000 he went on to make a further one hundred and nineteen appearances for the Dragons before becoming newly formed National Rugby League franchise Gold Coast Titans' second signing for their inaugural 2007 season. Bailey and Scott Prince were named as co-captains. Bailey was the first person to score a try on Skilled Park at the Gold Coast once it was built for the home games of the Gold Coast Titans.

Group 1 Rugby League was a rugby league competition held in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales, Australia, run under the auspices of the Country Rugby League. The group, however, still runs a junior rugby league competition. When the Group 18-Gold Coast competition dissolved in 2005, the New South Wales sides joined together with Group 1 to form a divisional league, Northern Rivers Regional Rugby League (NRRRL). Group 18 also still holds its own individual junior rugby league competition.

The 2007 Sydney Roosters season was the 100th in the club's history. They competed in the NRL's 2007 Telstra Premiership and finished 10th.

Cabramatta Two Blues, colloquially known as Cabra, is an Australian rugby league football club that was originally formed in 1919 and then later completely formed as the Two Blues in 1939. They have always based from the Parramatta Junior Leagues, and their junior teams compete in the Parramatta District Junior Rugby League Association. They currently compete in the Ron Massey Cup and the Sydney Shield. They play out of the Cabramatta, New South Wales, Sports Ground Complex which can fit up to 5,000 spectators.

The 2008 National Rugby League season consisted of 26 weekly regular season rounds, starting on 14 March, followed by four weeks of play-offs, culminating in a Grand Final on 5 October.

The 2008 Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks season was the 42nd in the club's history. Coached by Ricky Stuart and captained by Paul Gallen and Greg Bird, they competed in the National Rugby League's 2008 Telstra Premiership, finishing the regular season 3rd to qualify for the finals. The Sharks then came within one game of the Grand Final but were knocked out by eventual runners-up Melbourne Storm.

The Sydney Roosters opened their 2013 season against their long-time rivals the South Sydney Rabbitohs. In 2013, Trent Robinson coached the Sydney Roosters. Anthony Minichiello captained the team in 2013 along with four vice-captains in Boyd Cordner, Jake Friend, Mitchell Pearce and Jared Waerea-Hargreaves. The Sydney Roosters completed their 2013 regular season as Minor Premiers, defeating the South Sydney Rabbitohs 24 – 12. The Sydney Roosters were crowned Premiers by defeating the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles 26 – 18 in the 2013 NRL Grand Final.

The 2013 St. George Illawarra Dragons season was the 15th in the joint venture club's history. Coached by Steve Price and captained by Ben Creagh, they competed in the National Rugby League's 2013 Telstra Premiership. This season was the worst year performance wise since the joint venture was created. They finished only over the top of Wests Tigers & the Parramatta Eels.

The Sydney Roosters opened their 2014 season against their long-time rivals the South Sydney Rabbitohs. In 2014, Trent Robinson coached the Sydney Roosters. Anthony Minichiello captained the team in 2014 along with four vice-captains in Boyd Cordner, Jake Friend, Mitchell Pearce and Jared Waerea-Hargreaves. The Sydney Roosters began 2014 by winning the World Club Challenge defeating the Wigan Warriors 36 – 14. The Sydney Roosters completed their 2014 regular season as Minor Premiers for the second year in a row, defeating the South Sydney Rabbitohs 22 – 18. The Sydney Roosters 2014 season ended in defeat against the South Sydney Rabbitohs 32 – 22.
