Invitation is the debut album by alternative rock supergroup Filthy Friends, released on Kill Rock Stars in 2017.
Stephen Thomas Erlewine of AllMusic awarded the album four out of five stars, writing, "It's as fun as it's galvanizing, a record that draws strength from its casual nature." [1] Pitchfork 's Alfred Soto gave the album a 6.5 out of 10, praising the performance but noting that the music, "depends on its lack of surprise... It is a good time, and not much more." [2]

Sleater-Kinney is an American rock band that formed in Olympia, Washington, in 1994. The band's current lineup features Corin Tucker and Carrie Brownstein, following the departure of longtime member Janet Weiss in 2019. Sleater-Kinney originated as part of the riot grrrl movement and has become a key part of the American indie rock scene. The band is also known for its feminist and left-leaning politics.

Corin Lisa Tucker is an American singer, songwriter, and guitarist, best known for her work with rock band Sleater-Kinney. Prior to forming Sleater-Kinney, Tucker was a member of the indie rock group Heavens to Betsy. She has also released work under the name The Corin Tucker Band.

Contributing artists included Paul McCartney, who owned Holly's publishing catalog at the time of the album's release, and Graham Nash, a former member of The Hollies, who were named in commemoration of Holly.

The only single released from 1,000 Years was "Doubt".
