Iowa State University College of Agriculture and Life Sciences is one of eight colleges of Iowa State University of Science and Technology in Ames, Iowa.

The University was founded in 1858 as the Iowa Agricultural College and Model Farm. [1] On July 4, 1959, the school was renamed "Iowa State University of Science and Technology" and the College of Agriculture became one of five colleges (i.e., College of Agriculture, College of Engineering, College of Home Economics, College of Sciences and Humanities, and College of Veterinary Medicine). [2] In 2007, the College of Agriculture was renamed "College of Agriculture and Life Sciences". [3]

Catt Hall

Carrie Chapman Catt Hall is an administrative building completed in 1892, at Iowa State University which currently houses the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies, and the Carrie Chapman Center for Women and Politics. The building is named for Carrie Chapman Catt, an American women's rights activist and founder of the League of Women Voters. She graduated from Iowa State in 1880 at the top of her class.

The 1898 Iowa State Cyclones football team represented Iowa State College of Agricultural and Mechanic Arts as an independent during the 1898 college football season. In their fourth year under head coach Pop Warner, the Cyclones compiled a 3–2 record and were outscored by opponents by a combined total of 50 to 49. Simon Tarr was the team captain.

The 1895 Iowa Agricultural Cyclones football team represented Iowa Agricultural College as an independent during the 1895 college football season. The Cyclones compiled a 3–4 record and outscored all opponents by a combined total of 82 to 70. Ed Mellinger was the team captain.

The 1893 Iowa Agricultural Cardinals football team represented Iowa Agricultural College as an independent during the 1893 college football season. The 1893 Cyclones compiled a 0–3 record, losing twice to Grinnell and once to Cornell. They were outscored by a combined total of 56 to 4. W. P. Finney was the head coach, and Ed Mellinger was the team captain.
