The Island Council of Saba is the legislative body of the Dutch special municipality of Saba. It consists of five members and elections take place every four years. The Island Council appoints and supervises the commissioners in the Executive Council. The Island Council is chaired by the Island Governor. [1]
Currently there are two political parties represented in the Island Council: The Windward Islands People's Movement (WIPM) holds three seats and the Party for Progress, Equality and Prosperity (PEP) holds two seats.

Saba is a Caribbean island and the smallest special municipality of the Netherlands. It consists largely of the active volcano Mount Scenery, which at 887 metres (2,910 ft) is the highest point of the entire Kingdom of the Netherlands. The island lies in the northern Leeward Islands portion of the West Indies, southeast of the Virgin Islands. Together with Bonaire and Sint Eustatius it forms the BES islands, also known as the Caribbean Netherlands.
Gilberto François "Betico" Croes was an Aruban political activist who was a proponent for Aruba's separation from the Netherlands Antilles. This eventually occurred in 1986, but following a car accident on 31 December 1985, Croes lapsed into a coma and never became conscious to see his accomplishment. He is best remembered as "Libertador" (liberator) and as the father of the Aruban people.
The Windward Islands People's Movement (WIPM) is a political party in Saba. It has won a majority of seats in the Island Council in all but two elections since 1971.
The Saba Labour Party (SLP) is a political party in Saba. The 2019 elections saw the SLP lose both their seats in the Island Council.
The Dutch Caribbean Police Force is the law enforcement agency of the Caribbean Netherlands.
Monique Wilson is a Saban politician. She served as a member of the Saba Island Council for the Saba Labour Party between 2015 and 2019.
Wycliffe Sylvester Smith is a Sint Maarten politician, former pastor and poet. Smith briefly served as prime minister of Sint Maarten in 2019. From 1983 to 1989 he was the lieutenant governor of Saba.
