Istanbul Monorail was a proposed monorail mass transit system in Istanbul, Turkey.

The monorail line would have been between Küçükçekmece and Başakşehir via Sefaköy. The length of the line was proposed to be 15 km (9.3 mi) and the total travel time between the termini would have taken 27 minutes, with a capacity of carrying hourly 15,000 riders in one direction. 30 trains were planned with 17 monorail stations, such as Sefaköy, Armoni Park, Borusan, Sanayi, Gümrük Yolu, Halkalı Merkez, Toki-1, Toki-2, Arena Park (Atakent), Masko, Ziya Gökalp, Atatürk Oto Sanayi 1, Atatürk Oto Sanayi 2, Başakkonutları, Onurkent, Oyakkentand Fatih Terim Stadium. The monorail line would have connected to metro lines of Kirazlı-Halkalı at Halkalı Merkez station, of Yenikapı-İncirli-Sefaköy-Beylikdüzü at Sefaköy, of Mahmutbey-Bahçeşehir-Esenyurt at Arena Park and of Otogar-Bağcılar-Başakşehir at Başakşehir Konutları station. The project was governed by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality. The tender for the construction of the monorail system was won by Alsim, a subsidiary of Alarko Holding. It was reported that the construction would begin in April 2017.[ needs update ] The completion of the project was expected for the first half of 2019. The construction cost was budgeted to 1.292 billion (approx. US$ 350 million). [1] [2]

Sirkeci railway station, listed on maps as Istanbul railway station, is a railway terminal in Istanbul, Turkey. The terminal is located in Sirkeci, on the tip of Istanbul's historic peninsula, right next to the Golden Horn and just northwest of Gülhane Park and the Topkapı Palace. Sirkeci Terminal on the European side of the Bosporus strait, along with Haydarpaşa Terminal on the Asian side, are Istanbul's two intercity and commuter railway terminals. Built in 1890 by the Oriental Railway as the eastern terminus of the world-famous Orient Express that once operated between Paris and Istanbul in the period between 1883 and 2009, Sirkeci Terminal has become a symbol of the city. As of 19 March 2013, service to the station was indefinitely suspended due to the rehabilitation of the existing line between Kazlıçeşme and Halkalı for the new Marmaray commuter rail line. On 29 October 2013, a new underground station was opened to the public and is serviced by Marmaray trains travelling across the Bosphorus. Sirkeci Terminal has a total of 4 platforms with 7 tracks. Formerly, commuter trains to Halkalı would depart from tracks 2, 3 and 4; while regional trains to Kapıkule, Edirne and Uzunköprü, along with international trains to Bucharest, Sofia and Belgrade would depart from tracks 1 and 5.

Maslak is one of the main business districts of Sarıyer, Istanbul, Turkey, located on the European side of the city. It was formerly an exclave of the municipality of Şişli, though being far north and actually closer to the municipalities of Sarıyer and Beşiktaş. Therefore, a legislation was approved by the Interior Commission of the Turkish Parliament on October 18, 2012, that shifted the jurisdiction of the Maslak district from Şişli to Sarıyer.

The M2, officially referred to as the M2 Yenikapı–Hacıosman metro line, is a rapid transit line of the Istanbul Metro. It is colored light green on the maps and route signs. The M2 operates between Hacıosman in southern Sarıyer to Yenikapı in south-central Fatih on the historic peninsula of Istanbul. Shuttle trains run from Sanayi to Seyrantepe to Nef Stadium. The M2 line has 16 stations, all but one underground, and a total length of 23.49 kilometers (14.60 mi). A daily ridership of about 500,000 makes it the busiest line of the Istanbul Metro system.

It operates between Kirazlı-Bağcılar, extending the service of the M1B line from Yenikapı, to Kayaşehir Merkez. Yenikapı Transfer Center, referred to as Yenikapı, is an underground transportation complex in Istanbul. It is located in south-central Fatih in the neighborhood of Yenikapı, hence the name of the hub. The complex is right next to the, indefinitely closed, Yenikapı railway station and a short walk away from the Yenikapı Ferry Terminal and İDO ferry service. Yenikapı complex links two stations of Istanbul Metro to a railway station of the Turkish State Railways on the trans-Bosphorus Marmaray tunnel. Yenikapı is the largest rapid transit station in Turkey.

Şişhane is an underground station on the M2 line of the Istanbul Metro. The station is located under Meşrutiyet Street in Beyoğlu, Istanbul. Şişhane has an entrance to Istanbul's famous İstiklâl Caddesi as well as entrances to Kasımpaşa. An out-of-station interchange is available with the historic Tünel funicular line as well as the T2 tram line. Many city buses that run along Tarlabaşı Boulevard are just a few blocks away from Şişhane's Kasımpaşa portal. Şişhane was opened on 31 January 2009 along with Atatürk Oto Sanayi on the northern part of the line. Between 2009-14 trains from Şişhane would operate as a shuttle to Taksim and back. When the M2 was extended south to Yenikapı in 2014, trains operated normally traversing the full line.

Siteler is an underground rapid transit station on the M3 line of the Istanbul Metro. It is located in south-central Başakşehir under Süleyman Demirel Avenue and services Atatürk Sanayi Mahallesi. The station was opened on 14 June 2013 and has an island platform serviced by two tracks.

Sanayi is an underground rapid transit station on the M2 line of the Istanbul Metro. It is located under Büyükdere Avenue between Levent and Maslak, Istanbul's two main financial districts. The station was opened on 31 January 2009 as part of the northern extension to Atatürk Oto Sanayi and has two island platforms serviced by three tracks. Sanayi is one of five stations of the Istanbul Metro to have this layout along with Otogar, Yenikapı, Bostancı and Olimpiyat. The M2 shuttle service to Seyrantepe originates and terminates at Sanayi station on its own track.

Atatürk Oto Sanayi is an underground rapid transit station on the M2 line of the Istanbul Metro. It is located under Büyükdere Avenue just north of Maslak. The station opened on 31 January 2009 as part of the northern extension of the M2. It served as the northern terminus until 2 September 2010 when the line was extended further north to Darüşşafaka. Atatürk Oto Sanayi has an island platform serviced by two tracks.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">F3 (Istanbul funicular)</span>

The F3, also known as the Vadistanbul Skyrail and officially referred to as the F3 Vadistanbul-Seyrantepe funicular line, is a 750 m (2,460 ft) long funicular railway in Sarıyer, Istanbul. The line is one of four funicular railways in Turkey, all of them in Istanbul, and is the only one that operates above ground. Due to the fact that the F3 runs along a concrete viaduct, it has been advertised as a Monorail even though it is technically a funicular railway. The route runs between Vadistanbul and Seyrantepe, where connection to the M2 line is available.

Istanbul's Central Business District as the real estate industry refers to it, is not the historic city center, but a 7-km-long north–south corridor of modern areas mostly along Barbaros Boulevard and Büyükdere Avenue. As of late 2021, 33% of the Class A office space in the metropolitan area was located in the CBD, of which about 790,000 sqm in Maslak, 690,000 sqm in Levent, 500,000 sqm in Zincirlikuyu/Esentepe/Gayrettepe and 100,000 sqm in Etiler.
