Prakash Padukone is an Indian former badminton player. He was ranked World No. 1 in 1980; the same year he became the first Indian to win the All England Open Badminton Championships. He was awarded the Arjuna award in 1972 and the Padma Shri in 1982 by the Government of India. He is one of the co-founders of Olympic Gold Quest, a foundation dedicated to the promotion of Olympic sports in India.

He received the Arjuna Award in 1999, the Khel Ratna Award in 2001, the Dronacharya Award in 2009 and the Padma Bhushan – India's third highest civilian award – in 2014. He is the only Indian coach to win the "Honorable Mention" by the International Olympic Committee at the 2019 Coaches Lifetime Achievement Awards.
Dipankar Bhattacharjee is a Badminton player from Assam, India. He represented India at many International tournaments including Barcelona and Atlanta Olympics. He was the Indian National Badminton Champion thrice and a runner-up twice. At Barcelona Olympics, he reached the pre-quarters.

Bayanacharya Ghanakanta Bora Muktiyar is a choreographer and guru of Sattriya dance, a major classical dance tradition of Assam, India and Pakistan. He is also a renowned instrumentalist and author. He has won the prestigious Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 2001.
Dehing Patkai National Park is a national park in the Dibrugarh and Tinsukia districts of Assam covering an area of 231.65 km2 (89.44 sq mi) of rainforest. It was declared a wildlife sanctuary on 13 June 2004. On 13 December 2020, the Government of Assam upgraded it into a national park. On 9 June 2021, the Forest Department of Assam officially notified it as a national park. It is located in the Dehing Patkai Landscape which is a dipterocarp-dominated lowland rainforest. The rainforest stretches for more than 575 km2 (222 sq mi) in the districts of Dibrugarh, Tinsukia and Charaideo. The forest further spreads over in the Tirap and Changlang districts of Arunachal Pradesh. Dehing Patkai National Park harbours the largest stretch of lowland rainforests in India. Dehing Patkai Wildlife Sanctuary was declared as Dehing Patkai Elephant Reserve under Project Elephant. Dehing-Patkai as a potential wildlife sanctuary was identified in late 1980s during a primate survey as "Upper Dehing Wildlife Sanctuary". Subsequently during a study on white-winged wood duck in early 1990s, it was discovered as a globally important site for this duck and recommended to be upgraded to "Upper Dehing National Park".

Trupti Murgunde is an Indian Badminton player who plays singles & doubles. She is a Dhyan Chand Awardee. The shuttler, who was born in Pune, has won the 2009 National Championship for women after remaining runners up for 3 times. She was also senior nationals doubles runner-up and junior national doubles champion. Trupti is also a five times South Asian Games gold medalist, including twice in singles in 2004 and 2006. Known for her deceptive strokes, she has also bagged 6 international titles in singles in BWF events from 1999 to 2014. Trupti is also a Commonwealth Games Bronze Medalist in Team Event at Melbourne in 2006. She, along with Saina Nehwal, reached the semi-finals of the women's doubles event in the Melbourne Commonwealth Games but lost in the Bronze Medal Playoff.

Hemendra Prasad Barooah (1926–2013), was an Indian entrepreneur, tea planter and philanthropist known for his contributions to Assam tea and tourism industries. He was honoured by the Government of India, in 2013, that bestowed on him the Padma Shri, the fourth-highest civilian award, for his contributions to the fields of trade and industry.
Guwahati Football Club is an Indian professional football club based in Guwahati, Assam, that competed in the I-League 2, and Assam State Premier League. The team was launched in December 2014 to promote Assamese football. Guwahati FC currently competes in GSA B Division Football League.
Jatin Goswami is an Indian dancer and choreographer, known as one of the prominent exponents of the classical dance form of Sattriya. He is the founder director of Sattriya Akademi, Guwahati, a sitting member of its Advisory Committee, and a former member of the General Council of the Sangeet Natak Akademi. He is also the founder of Alok Shilpi Sangha, a dance academy and Pragjyoti Kala Parishad, a cultural organization, and is a recipient of the 2004 Sangeet Natak Akademi Award. The Government of India awarded him the fourth highest civilian honour of the Padma Shri, in 2008, for his contributions to Sattriya dance.
Arup Kumar Datta is an Indian writer and Journalist from Guwahati, Assam. He has written 18 books for adults and 17 adventure novels for young people. In 2014 he was awarded the Life Time Achievement Honour by Association of Writers and illustrators for Children, New Delhi, the Indian chapter of the International Board of Books for Young People. He has also won numerous awards including the Shankar's Award in 1979, conferred to mark The International Year of the Child. He has been awarded the civilian award Padma Shri by Government of India in 2018.
Guwahati Theatre Festival is an annual theatre festival held in Guwahati city of Assam state, India. The festival is organized by G Plus, an English-language weekly tabloid newspaper in Guwahati. The festival aims to provide a platform to performing groups to showcase their productions before a new audience in the Guwahati city and North East region.
