"It's Christmas Day" is a Christmas song by South Korean singer-songwriter Roy Kim. It was released as a digital single on 19 December 2014, and distributed through CJ E&M Music.

Release

"It's Christmas Day" was composed and written by Kim. [1] After taking over spring with "Bom Bom Bom", summer with "Love Love Love", and autumn with "Home", Kim filled all of four seasons with his winter song release. On 11 December 2014, Kim posted up on his official Instagram account, stating "It's gonna be Christmas Day soon. Wait for it. Recording a new song."

The self-penned single was released on 19 December, one day ahead of his year-end concert, "Our Winter #2". Its music video also was revealed at the same day, bringing all kinds of Christmas feels with Kim sweetly singing while playing the piano and guitar. [2] [3] "It's Christmas Day" peaked at number 27 on the Gaon Digital Chart, [4] having sold over 69,000 digital copies as of 3 January 2015. [5]

Promotion

Following its release, Kim performed the song at Mnet's M Countdown broadcast on Christmas Day of that year. [6]

Rainbow (Korean: 레인보우) was a South Korean girl group formed in 2009 by DSP Media. The group is composed of seven members: Woori, Seungah, Jaekyung, Noeul, Yoonhye, Jisook and Hyunyoung. They released their debut EP Gossip Girl on November 12, 2009, and since released two studio albums and five extended plays, In October 2016, DSP Media announced that Rainbow would disband after seven years because their contracts expired. "Cherry Blossom Ending" is a song by South Korean indie band Busker Busker, from their debut studio album Busker Busker 1st Album. The song was written by band member Jang Beom-jun and was released on March 29, 2012, by CJ E&M Music. The song is well known for re-entering the music charts every spring in South Korea, earning the nicknames "Spring Carol" and "Cherry Blossom Zombie". As of 2021, "Cherry Blossom Ending" has received over 8,000,000 digital downloads according to Gaon, making it the best-selling single in the country.
