Italy at the Athletics World Cup (from 2010 known as IAAF Continental Cup) participated at the 1981 IAAF World Cup, because it was the host nation and on the other occasions participated as part of the Europe team. [1]

The IAAF Continental Cup is an international athletics track and field competition organized by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF). It is the only world cup contested by teams representing continents, rather than national teams. The event takes place every four years in the even-year between Olympics.

The 3rd IAAF World Cup in Athletics was an international track and field sporting event sponsored by the International Association of Athletics Federations, held on September 4–6, 1981, at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome, Italy.

Andrew Howe Italian sprinter and long jumper

Andrew Howe is an Italian athlete who specializes in the long jump. He won this event as well as the 200 metres at the 2004 World Junior Championships. He was successful at senior level at a young age, winning a long jump bronze at the 2006 IAAF World Indoor Championships before becoming the European Champion later that year. In 2007 he became the European Indoor Champion and won the silver medal at the 2007 World Championships in Athletics.

Bouabdallah "Bob" Tahri is a retired middle-distance and long-distance runner of Algerian descent, competing internationally for France. He competes mainly in the 3000 m steeplechase distance. He also competes in the 2000 m steeplechase, 1500 m, mile, 3000 m, 5000 m, 10000 m and cross-country running. He has won several medals at major international championships such as the World Championships, European Championships and the European Indoor Championships. Moreover, he has won medals in the European Cup, European Team Championships, IAAF World Cup, IAAF Continental Cup and the IAAF World Athletics Final.

Marco De Luca athletics competitor

Marco De Luca is an Italian race walker. His best results at International level are 7th place at 2009 World Championships and 6th at 2006 European Championships and 2010 European Championships. But the most prestigious achievement of his career was achieved in 2016, at age 35, when he finished fourth at the World Race Walking Team Championships, but was awarded the bronze medal following the disqualification for doping of the teammate Alex Schwazer, who had won the gold medal.

2010 IAAF Continental Cup

The 1st IAAF Continental Cup was an international track and field sporting event held under the auspices of the International Association of Athletics Federations. Originally scheduled as the 11th IAAF World Cup in Athletics, it was renamed in 2008 when the IAAF revamped the competition format. It was held in Split, Croatia on 4–5 September 2010.

The fourth edition of the European Race Walking Cup took place in the Slovak city of Dudince on Saturday May 19, 2001.

European Cup Combined Events is an annual track and field competition for European combined events specialists, with contests in men's decathlon event and women's heptathlon.

2011 European Race Walking Cup

The ninth edition of the European Race Walking Cup was held on the roads of Olhão, Portugal on 21 May 2011. The event was jointly organised by the Federação Portuguesa de Atletismo and the European Athletics Association. A total of 222 athletes from 26 countries participated in the competition.

Italy at the European Race Walking Cup, at senior level, participated at all editions of the European Race Walking Cup from La Coruña 1996.
