Ivan de Souza Monteiro (born 1960, in Manaus) [1] is a Brazilian electronic engineer. He is the president of the oil state company Petrobras. [2] Previously, Monteiro was CFO of the company. Before heading Petrobras, Monteiro worked in Banco do Brasil. [2]

Monteiro was taken to Petrobras in 2015 by Aldemir Bendine, former president of Banco do Brasil (BB), nominated in that year as president of the company by president Dilma Rousseff. Monteiro had been vice-president of the Financial Management and Affairs with Investors of BB, in office between 2009 and 2015. [3]

He had been Vice President since 2011 and Acting President since 12 May 2016, when Rousseff was suspended while she faced an impeachment trial. At the age of 75, he is the oldest person to have taken the office.

The process began with the performance of judicial decision on April 6, 2016, the President of the Chamber of Deputies, Eduardo Cunha, to form commission for termination analysis of liability for crime offered by Mariel M.
