J. H. Putman Middle School is a middle school located in the west end of Ottawa, Ontario.
A middle school is an educational stage which exists in some countries, providing education between primary school and secondary school. The concept, regulation and classification of middle schools, as well as the ages covered, vary between, and sometimes within, countries.
Ottawa is the capital city of Canada. It stands on the south bank of the Ottawa River in the eastern portion of southern Ontario. Ottawa borders Gatineau, Quebec; the two form the core of the Ottawa–Gatineau census metropolitan area (CMA) and the National Capital Region (NCR). As of 2016, Ottawa had a city population of 964,743 and a metropolitan population of 1,323,783 making it the fourth-largest city and the fifth-largest CMA in Canada.
Ontario is one of the 13 provinces and territories of Canada and is located in east-central Canada. It is Canada's most populous province accounting for 38.3 percent of the country's population, and is the second-largest province in total area. Ontario is fourth-largest jurisdiction in total area when the territories of the Northwest Territories and Nunavut are included. It is home to the nation's capital city, Ottawa, and the nation's most populous city, Toronto, which is also Ontario's provincial capital.
This school offers students a choice of English (with Core French) and French immersion programs as well as specialized instrumental music, visual arts and sports. The school offers Special Education and English Language Support, and houses a system Behaviour Intervention Program (BIP) formerly SSU classroom.

J. H. Putman was officially opened on October 19, 1961 by Major-General Georges Vanier, Governor-General of Canada. The school is named after the Chief Inspector of Ottawa Public Schools, the late Dr. J. H. Putman, whose recommendations led to the introduction of intermediate schools in Ottawa in 1929. J.H Putman was the first school in Ottawa to be built as a middle school with facilities for students in grades 7 and 8 (Lockers, a Science Lab, a Music room, A Maker room, etc.). It wasn't the first Middle school in Ottawa since there have already been certain elementary schools that have been converted into middle schools, one of these schools that both still exists and is still a middle school is Glashan Intermediate School.

J.H. Putman has an enrollment of approximately 350 students in grades 6-8, drawing students mainly from Agincourt and Woodroffe Avenue Public Schools, sometimes Pinecrest Public School. Students come from varied ethnic backgrounds and many speak a third language.
Graduating grade 8 students attend a number of high schools including Woodroffe High School and Nepean High School. Students can also attend: Sir Guy Carleton Secondary School (For the adaptive program) and Canterbury High School (For the Arts program).
Woodroffe High School is a secondary school situated in the west end of Ottawa, Ontario. Woodroffe High School hosts an extensive variety of 20 school clubs, organizations and inter-school and intramural athletics. Woodroffe High School is a secondary school with a large athletic program, and a wide range of extra-curricular activities. A number of programs are being developed to better serve the students' interests. These include the development of a number of multi-disciplinary courses, an arts certificate, and an international studies certificate.
Nepean High School is a high school in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is located in the Westboro neighbourhood, at 574 Broadview Avenue. There were 1160 students enrolled for 2011–2012. Renald Cousineau is the current principal replacing Patrick MacArthy, the principal from 2012 to 2017. As of February 1, 2019 Krista McNamara will be the new principal. The two current vice principals are Jayne Ford and Peter Campbell.
Sir Guy Carleton Secondary School is a high school in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It specializes in Vocational Education, with programs modified to suit individual abilities. It also offers a General Learning Program, A Physical Support Program and a Behavioural Intervention Program for students with Special Education needs.
The building itself is small for a middle school (It only has a capacity for 341 students when the average middle school capacity in ottawa out of the 8 middle schools is 519, J.H.Putman is Ottawa's smallest middle school), but the yard is large. It has a soccer field, two tennis courts, a basketball court, baseball diamond and a multiuse field. The soccer field is for multiple purposes, such as Frisbee, track and field and football. The building a two-story school with three main corridors. The school has a Cafeteria, a Science Lab, a Music room, an Art room, a Maker room, a gym with a stage, and an additional 16 extra classrooms. The gymnasium is small but still holds around 350 people.
Putman dedicates students for their success in sports, academics, French, art or perseverance.
The Hockaday School is an independent, secular, college preparatory day and boarding school for girls located in Dallas, Texas, USA. The boarding school is for girls in grades 8–12 and the day school is from pre-kindergarten to grade 12. The Hockaday School is accredited by the Independent Schools Association of the Southwest.
Associação Escola Graduada de São Paulo, most commonly referred to as Graded School, is an American school in São Paulo, Brazil. The school opened on October 17, 1920, in a small schoolhouse on Avenida São João, and in 1961 the current campus was built on Avenida Giovanni Gronchi, in a terrain now facing the slum of Paraisópolis, located in Morumbi. Head-Royce School is a private co-educational college-preparatory K-12 school in Oakland, California. The forerunner of Head-Royce was the Anna Head School for Girls in Berkeley, founded in 1887. Relocated to its current site in 1964, Anna Head School for Girls merged with the neighboring Royce School in 1979 to form the present-day Head-Royce School.
Greenbank Middle School (GMS) was an intermediate public school in the Nepean district of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Founded in 1968, it aimed to be a student-centred learning environment where students become informed decision-makers. It was located on Greenbank Road, from which it received its name. It was paired with Knoxdale Public School, a primary school and was a principal feeder to Greenbank.

All Saints Catholic High School, opened September 2002, is a secondary school in the Kanata district of Ottawa, Ontario. The school is located in the Kanata North area of Kanata Lakes and serves the communities of Kanata and West Carleton. The school motto is Dei Gratia, Latin for 'The Grace of God'. Although the names of many saints were suggested, "All Saints" emerged as the clear favourite name for the school. The school colours are silver, blue and burgundy. In 2005, All Saints students chose "Eddie the Yeti" as the school mascot.
Island Pacific Academy (IPA) is a private, independent, college-preparatory school operating in Kapolei, Hawaii. The school was founded in 2004 and enrolled its first students in September 2004. school year. The school now enrolls nearly 500 students in grades Kindergarten through 12th grade. The school has graduated six classes of seniors beginning May 2010. There are over 80 staff and faculty at Island Pacific Academy. IPA is an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School authorized to offer the IB Primary Years Programme, Middle Years Program and the Diploma Programme. Cedarview Middle School is a dual-track English/French immersion middle school in the Barrhaven neighbourhood of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is part of the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board. As of 2017, it has 650 students; most students studying in English. Cedarview was opened in 1994. The building is characterized by its bright blue roof. As of the 2018-2019 school year, the principal is Alain Brule and the vice-principal is Diana MacFarlane. The school is also home to a Grade 7 and 8 Congregated Gifted class and an autism program.
Brunswick High School (BHS) is a public high school in Brunswick, Ohio. It is the only high school in the Brunswick City School District and the only high school in the city. Brunswick High School offers a comprehensive educational program consisting of ten Advanced Placement Courses and Honors-Level programming in all academic areas. A wide range of co-curricular and extra-curricular clubs, activities, and athletics supplement the academic programs at Brunswick High School. As of 2015, Brunswick has 132 teachers and 2,500 students. It is the eighth largest high school in Ohio in terms of enrollment.
Courtice Secondary School is a public high school in the community of Courtice in Clarington, Ontario, Canada, at the corner of Nash and Courtice Roads. It was built in the late 1950s and opened in September 1960. The school has just under 1,000 students and is a part of the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board. It has five feeder schools: Courtice North P.S., Lydia Trull P.S., Courtice Intermediate School, Emily Stowe P.S., and S.T. Worden P.S.. Courtice Intermediate School is located in the same building as Courtice Secondary. It opened in September 2013 as a response to overcrowding at Dr. G. J. MacGillivray. Grade 7 and 8 students from the Dr. G. J MacGillivray area are now directed to Courtice Intermediate.; the French Immersion program for grades 7 and 8 in the Courtice area has also been moved to Courtice Intermediate. Beginning in the fall of 2014, Courtice Secondary will also be home to the French Immersion program for French Immersion students starting grade 9.
