Jacinta Anne Brondgeest, a.k.a.Jacinta, is an American musician, singer, composer, music producer, and electronic dance music artist.

Life and career

Jacinta Brondgeest was born in Portland, Oregon but grew up in Sydney. [1] She started her musical career working in local bands. [1] Her debut solo album, Sandalwood: Under the Influence, appeared in 2000. [1] She wrote the track, "Wonderland", which was recorded for The Saddle Club , an Australian-Canadian children's TV show. As a single it peaked at No. 7 on the Australian Singles Chart in September 2003. [2] [3] [4] "Wonderland" spent 11 weeks on the AIR Independent Charts, peaking at #2, October 13, 2003.

After moving to Austin, Texas, to try her luck in the States, in 2005 Jacinta issued her second album, Smokescreen, whose first single, "Sunshine", had its own album of remixes that came out the same year. "Destination" followed in 2006, then top 10 Billboard Dance Hit "Can’t Keep It a Secret" in 2007, and "Electric Universe" in 2008.

Billboard Magazine Chart Hits—In 2006, "Sunshine" rose to #20 on the Billboard Hot Club Play Chart, and in that same year, "Destination" climbed to #23. In 2007, "Can't Keep It a Secret" climbed to #7 on the Billboard Hot Club Play Chart. [5]

Her debut on the European Dance scene came in 2009 with "Share the Tears" by AurA and "Lost in a Dream" by Javah both featuring Jacinta's vocals.

Jacinta has played an artist showcase during the 2011 SXSWmusic conference in Austin Texas, March 18, 2011. [6]

Awards

In March 2008, Jacinta was a nominee for Best Break-Through Artist at The WMC (Winter Music Conference) International Dance Music Awards, [7] and in 2010 won first place in the USA Songwriting Competition for her song "Can't Keep It a Secret" (Dance/Electronica category). [8] Jacinta is a 2010 finalist (with her song "Electric Universe") in the International Songwriting Competition (ISC). [9]

The release of Cardwell's debut album, The World Is Full of Trouble (1995), established her as a solo artist worldwide and featured the Billboard Dance top-five singles number-one singles "Jump for Joi" and "Love & Devotion". Her second album, Joi Cardwell (1997), spawned the top-charting singles "Soul to Bare", "Run to You", and "Found Love".

Gabriel & Dresden is an American electronic music duo comprising Josh Gabriel and Dave Dresden, formed in San Francisco, California. "Pocketful of Sunshine" is a song by English singer-songwriter Natasha Bedingfield. It was recorded on 3 May 2006 and released on 15 January 2008 as the second single from her second North American studio album of the same title (2008). Bedingfield co-wrote the song together with American songwriter Danielle Brisebois and American musician and songwriter John Shanks; Shanks also produced the track as well as performing on most of the instruments present. American recording artist CeCe Peniston entered the music industry as a backup vocalist on the Overweight Pooch's album Female Preacher, released in July 1991 on A&M Records. Felguk is the stage name of the Brazilian DJs and record producer duo Felipe Lozinsky and Gustavo Rozenthal. Later that year they played at Nocturnal Festival 2010, and peaked at #2 in Beatport with their remix of the 2007 dance hit "Exceeder". The Rules of Dada is the second studio album by the Swedish electronic music duo Dada Life. It was released on October 16, 2012 by Dada Life's independent record label So Much Dada and Universal. The album features a very heavily club-influenced electro house sound, and lyrically it discusses general carelessness with a lighthearted, almost humorous tone. Three of the album's eleven tracks are entirely instrumental, the remaining eight tracks feature vocals from various artists such as Britta Persson, Vincent Pontare, Michaela Shiloh, as well as Anthony Mills.
