Timothy Kenneth Rogers (born 6 April 1983), known by his stage name Jack Ladder, is an Australian rock music singer-songwriter, guitarist and composer. His music is characterised by his baritone voice and poignant observations on love and death, often featuring gallows humour.
Since 2005 Ladder has released five albums: Not Worth Waiting For (Spunk 2005), Love Is Gone (Spunk 2008), Hurtsville (Spunk 2011/Holloweyed 2012) and Playmates (Self Portrait 2014). Love Is Gone was short-listed for the Australian Music Prize, at which it also won the Red Bull Music Award for recognition of outstanding potential. [1] It was also selected as Album of the Year by Who magazine.
In 2011 Ladder released Hurtsville with The Dreamlanders (Kirin J. Callinan, Donny Benét and Laurence Pike). [2] Following its release he was nominated in The Age (Melbourne) EG Music Awards in multiple categories, including Best Male Artist, Best Song and Best Album. The lead single, "Cold Feet", was crowned "Song of the Year" by leading Australian music site Mess & Noise, and Hurtsville was short-listed for the Australian Music Prize.
Hurtsville was released in North America via the Holloweyed label and in Germany/BENELUX via Skycap in 2012. Inpress praised the record, deeming it "honest, rich & like nothing else". Beat magazine said that "Ladder continues to thrill, frustrated and intrigue" with the album. The Age called it "A terrifying wasp-factory novella of disgust", while Vice rated the album 9 out of 10 and said it "Tak[es] subversion to another level". Time Out rated it 5 out of 5 stars.
On 28 June 2021, Jack Ladder and The Dreamlanders announced sixth studio album Hijack! and released lead single "Astronaut". [3]
Jack Ladder has performed throughout Australia since 2005, playing capitals and regional centres on national tours to support all three albums, in 2005, 2008, 2011 and in 2012 to support the shortlisting of Hurtsville for the Australian Music Prize. He has appeared at music festivals such as Laneway, Peats Ridge Festival and the Meredith Music Festival. He has also performed internationally, making appearances in London, Berlin, New York and Los Angeles. Ladder has shared stages with John Cale, The Horrors, Bill Callahan and Okkervil River, for whom he contributed to The Stand Ins project. He also features on the live Bill Callahan record Rough Travel for a Rare Thing (Drag City 2010), playing bass guitar on the single, "Rough Travel for a Rare Thing".
Ladder has appeared on the Fox breakfast show Good Day New York in 2008, performing "You Won't Be Forgotten (When You Leave)", and in 2009 on Australian celebrity music quiz show Rockwiz , performing "The Barber's Son". His song "Two Clocks" appears in the season finale of Australian crime drama Underbelly , and in 2011 Ladder recorded his own version of "The 12 Days of Christmas" for Australian underwear manufacturer Bonds.
In 2012 Jack Ladder composed the soundtrack, and curated forgotten 1960s and 1970s music, for a sketch horror show titled Watch With Mother, created for tablet computers, which was the first of its genre.[ citation needed ] It was available as an app and serialized show via the iTunes Store and Google Play.

The Australian Music Prize (the AMP) is an annual award of $30,000 given to an Australian band or solo artist in recognition of the merit of an album released during the year of award. The AMP commenced in 2005.

Katie Anne Noonan is an Australian singer and songwriter. In addition to a successful solo career encompassing opera, jazz, pop, rock and dance, she was the singer in the band George and remains the singer in the band Elixir; performs with her mother Maggie Noonan; and plays with her band The Captains. Noonan was the musical director of and performed at the 2018 Commonwealth Games' opening and closing ceremonies.

Gareth Liddiard is an Australian musician, best known as a founding member of both The Drones and Tropical Fuck Storm. Musically active since 1997, he has also released a solo album titled Strange Tourist in 2010. In 2021, Liddiard recorded and performed live with Jim White of the Dirty Three and Chris Abrahams of The Necks as Springtime.
The Middle East are an Australian indie folk band that formed in Townsville, Queensland in 2005. The group garnered attention initially by playing small shows in their home town and quickly grew to national and international fame due to their rising popularity on music blogs and websites. In early 2008, the band released their home recorded first album called The Recordings of The Middle East. The band split up before reconvening in 2009 and signing to Australian indie label Spunk Records who re-issued 'The Recordings Of The Middle East' as an abridged EP.
Celia Pavey, known professionally as Vera Blue, is an Australian singer-songwriter signed with Island Records Australia, which is part of Universal Music Australia. Her folk-inspired album This Music peaked at number 14 on the Australian ARIA Charts in July 2013. Pavey sings, and plays the guitar and the violin. She placed third in season 2 of The Voice Australia. Her debut album Perennial achieved Gold certification in Australia after its release in 2017.

The Kite String Tangle is the solo project of Brisbane-based alternative electronic artist, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Danny Harley. Harley launched the project in 2012 and released an EP titled Vessel in 2014. He has since issued four studio albums: The Kite String Tangle in 2017, The Kite String Tangle Presents: In a Desperate Moment in 2018, C D3X in 2020, and Lustre in 2023.
Ngaire Laun Joseph, known by her stage name Ngaiire, is a Papua New Guinea-born Australian-based R&B and future soul singer-songwriter. Her musical career commenced in 2003 with an enrollment in a bachelor of Jazz Studies at the Central Queensland University (CQU). In 2004, she competed in the second season of Australian Idol, where she competed as a semi-finalist but did not make it to the final 12 singers. She then worked with Blue King Brown and Paul Mac as a session vocalist before re-focusing on her solo career in 2008.
Sukhdeep Singh Bhogal, better known by his stage name L-FRESH the Lion, is an Australian hip hop artist and producer. Based in South Western Sydney, Bhogal has released four studio albums as L-FRESH the Lion, highlighted by 2016's ARIA Award-nominated Become. He has also received three nominations at the National Live Music Awards. Bhogal's stage name is derived from a backronym for FRESH—Forever Rising Exceeding Sudden Hardships—while the L and lion refer to the Sanskrit translation for his middle name, Singh, which is given to Sikh men. He has been described as one of Australia's most important rappers.
Holy Holy are an Australian indie rock band formed by songwriters Timothy Carroll and Oscar Dawson (guitar) in 2011. The pair were later joined by touring musicians Ryan Strathie (drums), Graham Ritchie and Matt Redlich. They have released four top-20 studio albums and have been nominated for two ARIA Awards.
Client Liaison is an Australian indie pop duo made up of vocalist Monte Morgan, and keyboardist and producer Harvey Miller. The pair first came to prominence in 2012 after the release of their first music video "End of the Earth", and went on to release a self-titled EP in 2014, and studio album Diplomatic Immunity in 2016. Their second studio album, Divine Intervention was released on 1 October 2021.

Sultana rose to international prominence with their 2016 single "Jungle", which was voted into third place in Triple J's Hottest 100 countdown of 2016. A.B. Original is an Australian hip hop duo made up of Indigenous Australian rappers Briggs and record producer Trials. A.B. Original stands for Always Black, Original. Both members are Indigenous Australians; Briggs is a Yorta Yorta man and Trials is Ngarrindjeri. Their music is overtly political and has been described as "angry, polemical, brutally frank and meant to inspire a response, good or bad".
Camp Cope were an Australian alternative rock band formed in 2015 in Melbourne, Victoria. The group's lineup consisted of lead singer, songwriter and guitarist Georgia "Georgia Maq" McDonald, bassist Kelly-Dawn "Kelso" Hellmrich, and drummer Sarah "Thomo" Thompson. The band were signed with independent Melbourne label Poison City Records, where Thompson also works, and independent Boston label Run for Cover Records distributed their releases in North America and Europe. In February 2023, Camp Cope announced their imminent disbandment with a series of final performances.

Her debut album I Love You Like a Brother was released on 6 October 2017 and peaked at number 15 on the ARIA Albums Chart. Her second album, The Best of Luck Club followed in 2019, peaking at number 30. Following an EP issued during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, she released her third record, The Answer Is Always Yes, in May 2023.
Kieran John Callinan, known by his stage name Kirin J. Callinan, is an Australian singer, songwriter, and guitarist. He is also a founding member of Mercy Arms and has played with the Night Game, Jack Ladder and the Dreamlanders, Mark Ronson and Genesis Owusu.
Sampa Tembo, known professionally as Sampa the Great, is a Zambian singer, rapper and songwriter. Between 2014 and 2020, she was based in Australia. Her debut solo album, The Return, peaked at No. 12 on the ARIA Albums Chart. At the ARIA Music Awards of 2019 she won Best Hip Hop Release for her second single, "Final Form". In the following year she won the same category for The Return, as well as Best Female Artist and Best Independent Release. In March 2020 Sampa became the first artist to win the Australian Music Prize twice: for Birds and the Bee9 and The Return. The artist was based back in Zambia from late 2020, where she issued her second studio album, As Above, So Below.
Amyl and the Sniffers are an Australian pub rock and punk rock band based in Melbourne, consisting of vocalist Amy Taylor, drummer Bryce Wilson, guitarist Declan Martens, and bassist Gus Romer. At the ARIA Music Awards of 2019, their self-titled debut record won the Best Rock Album category.
