Madumetsa Jack Mogale [1] (born 1968/9), dubbed the West-End Serial Killer by police, is a South African serial killer who killed 16 people in 2008 and 2009. [2] On 17 February 2011, Mogale was convicted on 52 of 61 charges related to 16 murders, 19 rapes, and 9 kidnappings. [3]

Mogale committed his crimes near his residence in Westonaria and Lenasia, south of Johannesburg. [4] Two women who survived being attacked by him testified at trial that he had claimed to be a Zion Christian Church (ZCC) preacher and a prophet. [3]

Aileen Carol Wuornos was an American serial killer. In 1989–1990, while engaging in street prostitution along highways in Florida, she shot dead and robbed seven of her male clients. Robert Joseph "Bobby Joe" Long was an American serial killer and rapist who was executed by the state of Florida for the murder of Michelle Denise Simms. Long abducted, sexually assaulted, and murdered at least ten women in the Tampa Bay area in Florida during an eight-month period in 1984. He released 17-year-old Lisa McVey after 26 hours. McVey provided critical information to the police that enabled them to arrest Long.

David Joseph Carpenter, also known as The Trailside Killer, is an American serial killer and serial rapist known for stalking and murdering a variety of individuals on hiking trails in state parks near San Francisco, California. He attacked at least ten individuals and was convicted in seven murders and was confirmed to be the killer in an eighth murder; Carpenter is also suspected in two additional killings. Two attempted victims, Steven Haertle and Lois Rinna, mother of television personality Lisa Rinna, survived. Carpenter used a .38 caliber handgun in all but one of the killings. A .44 caliber handgun was used in the killing of Edda Kane on Mount Tamalpais.
