Jakub May is a Polish drummer. He was born in Szczecin in 1975. May plays acoustic and electronic drums, as well as various percussion instruments. He has performed in various musical genres and played over 2,500 concerts across Europe. He is the permanent drummer of The Analogs. [1]
Jakub May has been said to have a "no limits" approach, which reflects his openness to various musical genres. He has played in military orchestras, jazz big bands in French circuses, on cruise ships, as well as in numerous pop, rock, blues, ska, punk, country and metal bands. [1]
Jakub's specialty is concerts - he has played over 2,500 performances both in Poland and abroad, in countries such as England, France, Ukraine, Germany, Belgium, Sweden, the Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, the Czech Republic and Hungary. He has performed on many large stages, including Przystanek Woodstock, the Jarocin Festival, the Pepsi Vena Music Festival, the Ryszard Riedel Festival, as well as on numerous television broadcasts, such as New Year's Eve with Polsat. May is the permanent drummer of The Analogs, a street punk band from Poland. With The Analogs, he performs regularly, playing approximately 100 concerts per year. [4] His career also includes participation in the European tour "Booze & Glory: Hurricane Tour 2019", where he played 29 concerts day after day, and cooperation with a big band in a French circus, where he played around 280 shows in half a year. Jakub is also active in recording studios, where his drums can be heard on ten official album releases and numerous singles and EPs. He has recorded in renowned Polish studios such as Izabelin Studio, Studio7, Studio Varius Manx, 1234Studio, Media Studio, and Studio Serakos. Jakub May co-created a series of educational articles in the professional magazine "TOP GUITAR" entitled "Pije Kuba do Jacek", together with drum veteran Jacek Pelc. His articles are recognized for their practical approach and inspire many young drummers. [1]
Jakub May is associated with the Stoart and ZAIKS organizations. In 2021, he received a ZAIKS scholarship, which is a token of appreciation for his contribution to the development of the Polish music scene.

Kury is a Polish post rock group. The band was brought to life in April 1992 by Ryszard Tymon Tymański, a former member of the experimental art performing Totart community (1986-1989) and a later co-founder of the so called yass music scene. Kury played experimental rock music and their style evolved in time towards a more electronic direction. Their first album "Kablox - nieslyna histaria" was recorded in 1994 in Polish Radio Szczecin studios. It contained post rock songs inspired by Frank Zappa, King Crimson, Skeleton Crew, Art Bears. In the following years the band toured Poland, sometimes performing as a quintet with the addition of yass clarinet player Jerzy Mazzoll. In the summer of 1996 Tymanski got together with his long time friend Olaf Deriglasoff, a Tricity based singer and songwriter, to cooperate on the production of a new Kury album. The illustrious P.O.L.O.V.I.R.U.S., released in 1998, was a strong compilation of pastiche songs deriding the condition of Polish popular music. The recording sessions lasted throughout the springtime of 1997, with a lot of renowned yass and alternative Tricity luminaries participating. The record was very well reviewed and marked a considerable breakthrough for the band. After phenomenal drummer Jacek Olter's suicide in January 2001, the band continued to record and tour, putting out the third regular record entitled "100 lat undergroundu". The album, more oriented towards rap and electronics, contained previously recorded Olter tracks and featured a guest performance from a Sunderland based DJ and musician DJ Scissorkicks aka Anthony Chapman. Without Jacek Olter, Kury strived to survive as a live act with Jacek Stromski, Rory Walsh and Kuba Staruszkiewicz on drums. The last tour took place in December 2003, after which Tymański disbanded the group. In 2011 and 2012 the band played a couple of concerts and went back into a limbo. In the fall of 2023 the Gdynia based S7 record label reissued remastered P.O.L.O.V.I.R.U.S. on vinyl, CD and cassette which was received with a wave of wide acclaim. Kury once again returned as a touring act, this time announcing its fourth official album to be issued by the end of September 2025. Modern Kury perform as a quintet with Tymon Tymanski and Olaf Deriglasoff handling bass, guitars and vocals altogether, Jerzy Mazzoll playing clarinette, Szymon Burnos on keyboards and vocals and Michal Gos on drums.
