Herath Mudiyanselage Rangana Keerthi Bandara Herath,known as Rangana Herath,is a former Sri Lankan cricketer,who played all forms of the game and a former Test captain for Sri Lanka. Herath is the most successful left arm bowler in Test cricket history. He is currently working as spin bowling consultant with the Bangladesh cricket team. Herath was a member of the Sri Lankan team that won the 2014 ICC World Twenty20.

Ottis Delroy Gibson is a Barbadian cricket coach and former cricketer who played for the West Indies cricket team. From 2010 to 2014,Gibson was the head coach for the West Indies,where he led the team to be champions of the 2012 T20 World Cup. He has been appointed as Bangladesh bowling head coach and previously twice worked as bowling coach for England,from 2007 to 2010 and again from 2015 to 2017. Gibson also coached the South African cricket team from 2017 to 2019. He is currently the pace bowling coach of the Bangladesh national cricket team and Multan Sultans. In January 2022 Gibson was appointed the head coach of Yorkshire County Cricket Club,he is set to join the team after the conclusion of the 2022 Pakistan Super League season.
The South African cricket team toured Australia for cricket matches during the 2005–06 season. South Africa had already played two One Day International series during this season,beating New Zealand 4–0 at home before travelling to India and drawing the series there 2–2. The team had been playing 14 successive ODIs before arriving in Australia,with their last Test match against West Indies in April and May 2005. South Africa played one first class warm-up match,one three-day warm-up match without first class status,and one one-day match before they embarked on the three-Test series,which began on 16 December and ended on 6 January. Graeme Peter Swann is an English former cricketer who played all three formats of the game. Born in Northampton,he attended Sponne School in Towcester,Northamptonshire. He was primarily a right-arm off-spinner,and also a capable late-order batsman with four first-class centuries,and often fielded at second slip. Swann could score quickly;his test strike rate is the highest of any male English batter to have scored at least 1000 runs. Swann was a member of the England team that won the 2010 ICC World Twenty20.

Sri Lanka toured England for cricket matches during the 2006 international cricket season. England were back home for the first time since September and looked to maintain their Test standards,which saw them keep their second place in the ICC Test Championship in India,and the teams were also competing for sixth place in the ICC ODI Championship as both England and Sri Lanka were coming off the back of two lost ODI tours on the Asian sub-continent,against India and Pakistan respectively. To add to problems,both teams were likely to be missing some key members of the team as England were without some of their squad for their previous tour and,two days before Sri Lanka departed for England,it was revealed that skipper Marvan Atapattu would stay at home for the tour due to back problems that had forced him to skip his previous tour too. Jehan Mubarak was brought in as his replacement.

In cricket,a hat-trick occurs when a bowler takes three wickets with consecutive deliveries. In March 2021,he became the first bowler to take hat-trick and be hit for the maximum of six sixes in an over in the same match,by Kieron Pollard against West Indies.
