Jamie Romeo is an American politician from the state of New York. A Democrat, Romeo has served as Monroe County Clerk since 2020. She previously represented the 136th district in the New York State Assembly, covering parts of Rochester and its inner suburbs, from 2019 until 2020. [1] [2]
While still obtaining her MPA at SUNY Brockport, Romeo began her political career working for the Democratic legislative office in Monroe County. [3] Afterwards, she held positions as chief of staff for State Senator Ted O'Brien and executive director of the Monroe County Democratic Committee. [4]
In 2018, Romeo ran for the New York State Assembly's 136th district, defeating two other candidates in the primary election and facing no opposition in the November general election. [5] She took office on January 9, 2019.
After Monroe County Clerk Adam Bello was elected Monroe County Executive in 2019, Romeo announced her candidacy for his former office. [6] On February 6, 2020, Governor Andrew Cuomo appointed her to the position in advance of the 2020 election. [7] [8]
Romeo was born and raised in Irondequoit, where she continues to live with her son, Dominic. [3]
Monroe County is a county in the Finger Lakes region of New York, in the United States. The county is along Lake Ontario's southern shore. As of 2019, Monroe County's population was 741,770, a decrease since the 2010 census. Its county seat and largest city is the city of Rochester. The county is named after James Monroe, the fifth President of the United States. Monroe County is part of the Rochester, NY Metropolitan Statistical Area. The current County Executive is Adam Bello.

Alfred Benedict DelBello was an American politician and lawyer from New York. A registered Democrat, he served as the Lieutenant Governor of New York from 1983 to 1985.
