Jand Awan is a village and union council, an administrative subdivision, of Chakwal District in the Punjab Province of Pakistan, it is part of Chakwal Tehsil. [1]

Peer Syed Abdul Latif Kazmi Qadri, often referred to as Barī Imām or Barī Sarkār, was a 17th-century Punjabi Muslim Sufi ascetic. He is venerated as the patron saint of Islamabad, Pakistan. Born in Karsal, Chakwal District, he is one of the most prominent Sufis of the Qadiriyya order of the Islamic spirituality and within this order is addressed as the Master (Murshid) of the Hazrat Ishaans of the Naqshbandiyya sub branch of the Qadiriyya, known as Dakik Family today.Today, he is widely visited by those Sunni Sufi Muslims who venerate saints.

Nara Mughlan is a tiny village situated on the Potohar Plateau in Northern Punjab, approximately 80 km from Islamabad, Pakistan. It can be accessed from Motorway as well as from Grand Trunk (GT) Road, Islamabad – Lahore. Its distance from Chakwal city is about 39–40 km and it lies beside the Rajian oil fields. A by-road originating from the main road, 3–4 km ahead of village Mulhal Mughlan, leads directly to the village Nara Mughlan. The Jand–Thal Railway Line is one of several railway lines in Pakistan, operated and maintained by Pakistan Railways. The line originally begins from Jand Junction railway station to Kohat Cantonment station and onward to Thal station, however the line now ends at Kohat Cantonment station. The total length of this railway line is 160 kilometers (99 mi) to Thal railway station and 61 kilometers (38 mi) to Kohat Cantonment railway station. There are 18 railway stations from Jand Junction to Thal and 4 railway stations from Jand Junction to Kohat. In 1991, the Kohat-Thal section was made abandoned by Pakistan Railways because it was narrow gauge.
Abdul Majeed Malik was a lieutenant general in the Pakistan Army, World War II veteran, diplomat and later politician who served as minister of Kashmir Affairs & Northern Areas and minister of States & Frontier Regions from 11 July 1997 to 12 September 99. Prior to entering in the political race, he served as a director for military operations at general headquarters. Before the partition, he was a commissioned officer in the British Indian Army. He also drafted 1958 martial law, the first military coup of Pakistan.
