The Japan Open is an annual table tennis tournament in Japan, run by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF). It is currently part of the ITTF World Tour.
The tournament was first held in 1989, and has featured on the ITTF World Tour's schedule every year since the Tour's inception in 1996. [1]
Sweden's Jan-Ove Waldner and Germany's Timo Boll jointly hold the record for most men's singles tournament wins, with three each, while Wang Nan of China holds the record for most women's singles tournament wins, with four.
In August 2016, it was announced by the ITTF that Tokyo has been chosen as one of six cities to host a "World Tour Platinum" event in 2017. These events will replace the Super Series as the top tier of the ITTF World Tour. [2]

The Swedish Open, also known as the Swedish Open Championships (SOC), is an annual table tennis tournament in Sweden, run by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF). It is currently part of the ITTF World Tour.
Paul Drinkhall is a British table tennis player. He won the English Championship in 2007, 2009, 2011, 2012, 2016 and 2017.
Chuang Chih-yuan is a Taiwanese table tennis player. He won the ITTF Pro Tour Grand Finals in 2002 and doubles title at the 2013 World Table Tennis Championships. He participated in the Summer Olympics five times, making the most appearances at Olympic Games among Taiwanese athletes.

Kasumi Ishikawa is a Japanese table tennis player. A regular member of the Japanese national team, she won a silver medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics, a bronze at the 2016 Summer Olympics, and a silver medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics, in Women's team.
