Jayprad Desai is an Indian film director, screenwriter and producer. He is known for Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba (2024), Kaun Pravin Tambe? (2022), Mukhbir - The Story of a Spy (2022). He made his directorial debut with Nagrik, a Marathi political drama-thriller in 2015. [1] [2] He is the grand nephew of Vasant Desai, a composer. [3]
His first directorial venture Nagrik, a Marathi political drama-thriller, revolving around a struggling middle class journalist, won several accolades including Maharashtra State Awards for Best Social Film. It was also selected at multiple prestigious film festivals such as MAMI and IFFI. [4]
He later went on to create 'Hutatma' (2019), a historical-fiction thriller web series set against the Samyukta Maharashtra Movement. It was received well by critics as well as audiences and went on to win big at the MA TA Sanman including Best Web Series. [5] [6] [7]
In 2022, Desai directed Kaun Pravin Tambe?, a biographical sports drama film. The film is based on the life of cricketer Pravin Tambe, who made his debut in professional cricket at the age of 41. The movie stars Shreyas Talpade as Tambe and explores Tambe's journey of becoming a professional cricketer. The film highlights his passion, perseverance, and determination to achieve his dreams despite facing numerous challenges and setbacks. [8] The film was also nominated for the Filmfare Awards 2022 [9] [10] and it is the one of the most viewed Hindi films released in 2022. [11]
Mukhbir (2022) a period spy thriller web series which Jayprad co-wrote and co-directed with Shivam Nair won immense critical acclaim and became the most watched original series on Zee5 of 2022 with over 15 million views in less than 2 weeks. It went on to win numerous awards for Best Series, as well as Best Story, Screenplay and Dialogue. [12] It was also nominated at the Filmfare OTT awards 2022 for Best Series. [13]
Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba (2024) starring Taapsee Pannu, Vikrant Massey, Sunny Kaushal and Jimmy Shergill and produced by Aanand L Rai under Colour Yellow Productions and T-Series premiered on Netflix on 9th August 2024 to a stupendous opening. [1]

Shreyas Talpade is an Indian actor, film director and producer who appears in Hindi and Marathi films. He has appeared in several critically and commercially successful films. He is better known for his role as Shah Rukh Khan's friend Pappu Master in Om Shanti Om (2007), the grand reincarnation melodrama of Farah Khan. He appeared in the comedies Golmaal Returns (2008), Welcome to Sajjanpur (2008), Golmaal 3 (2010), Housefull 2 (2012) and Golmaal Again (2017). Talpade also dubbed for Allu Arjun in the Hindi version of Pushpa: The Rise (2021) and it's sequel Pushpa 2: The Rule (2024)

Mukhbir – The Story of a Spy is an Indian spy-thriller original series directed by Shivam Nair and Jayprad Desai and produced by Vaibhav Modi under the banner of Victor Tango Entertainment. The series is the adaptation of the retired Joint Director of the Intelligence Bureau Maloy Krishna Dhar's novel, Mission to Pakistan: An Intelligence Agent in Pakistan and stars Zain Khan Durrani, Prakash Raj, Adil Hussain, Barkha Bisht, Harsh Chhaya, Satyadeep Mishra, Bijou Thaangjam and Zoya Afroz in the pivotal roles. The plot follows a secret agent who led India in evading several aggressive advances from the enemy country by providing intelligence and helping India in 1965 war give a befitting reply to Pakistan's Operation Gibraltar and Operation Grand Slam manoeuvres. The series released on ZEE5 on 11 November 2022.
