Jayu Laqhi (Aymara jayu salt, laqhi gorge, precipice, [2] [3] "salt gorge (or cliff)", hispanicized spelling Jayulaque) is a mountain in the Andes of Peru, about 4,600 metres (15,092 ft) high. It is located in the Arequipa Region, Caylloma Province, Chuca District, and in the Puno Region, Lampa Province, Santa Lucía District. [1]

Aymara language native language in South America

Aymara is an Aymaran language spoken by the Aymara people of the Andes. It is one of only a handful of Native American languages with over one million speakers. It stretches along the Cairahuiri River whose waters flow to the Molloco River in the west, a right affluent of the Colca River.
