He has been DJing since 1994, beginning his DJing in the back bar of a nightclub titled "the Cheesey Club".
He became a surprise one-hit wonder in later 2001 for the song "2 People" (with two different music videos), sampled from "Inside My Love" by Minnie Riperton, in the UK.
In 1997, he founded the record label Plastic Raygun, on which he released his first single, "The Magnificent", under the name Brinkley Paste. Robson remarked "Don't ask me why I used that name. Basically it was badly produced big beat, but it sold 1,500 copies". [2] His follow-up single, "Night Time", "combined disco with the funkier end of house". At this time, the Jean Jacques Smoothie stage name was first used, as Robson later remarked "So I decided to come up with a cheeky French name, and Jean Jacques Smoothie was born!".[ citation needed ]
Jean Jacques Smoothie also released a single in 2002 entitled "Love & Evil". There was also an "Acoustic Mix" of this single, which features on V2 Music's Acoustic 02 compilation album.
His biggest hit "2 People" was also remixed by Moloko as well as Mirwais.

Infernal Love is the third major label album by the rock band Therapy? It was released on 12 June 1995 on A&M Records. The album was recorded at Real World Studios in Box, Wiltshire from January to March 1995.
Mirwais Ahmadzaï, known mononymously as Mirwais, is a French electronic dance music record producer and songwriter. Born in Switzerland to an Afghan father and an Italian mother, Ahmadzaï was a member of the defunct 1980s group Taxi Girl. He met Madonna in the late 1990s, when he submitted a demo to her then record label, Maverick Records.
Moloko were an Irish-English electronic music duo formed in Sheffield, England, consisting of vocalist Róisín Murphy and producer Mark Brydon. Blending elements of electronica and dance music, they are best known for their UK top 10 singles "The Time Is Now" (2000) and "Familiar Feeling" (2003), as well as the 1999 Boris Dlugosch remix of "Sing It Back" which became an international hit.
Things to Make and Do is the third album by the electronic/dance duo Moloko, released in the UK by Echo Records in 2000. It was a sonic departure for Moloko, with tracks less reliant on electronics and more on live musicians. In addition to the change in musical styles, the album featured new vocal technique, from the lead singer Róisín Murphy. At time of release, Murphy summed up the previous style of her lyrics, saying, "I was nineteen when I made Tight Sweater, and I knew I was pretending, but if I tried not to, I'd still be pretending. Now, I know myself better," and her lyrics on this album are described as, "Roisin's most direct and emotionally honest lyrics [so far]."

Originally demoed as "Silly Thing", "Nothing Fails" is a love song which has acoustic guitar chords and a gospel choir appearance. Lyrically, the song discusses a lover who is the one, and how their meeting was not just chance. A number of remixes of the song were done, with one of them being included on Madonna's remix album Remixed & Revisited (2003).

Written and produced by Madonna and Mirwais Ahmadzaï, it was released as the fourth and final single from the album on December 8, 2003, by Maverick Records. "Love Profusion" was first premiered during the release of the album on AOL. It later received a number of remixes, which were also released alongside the single. The song contains rhythm from a four piece bass drum, with acoustic guitar riffs and Madonna's voice backed by a male vocal during the chorus. Ahmadzaï used the stutter edit to create a new groove. Dedicated to Madonna's then-husband, Guy Ritchie, the song's lyrics deal with Madonna's confusion regarding American culture.

It first appeared in its original version on Moloko's second album, I Am Not a Doctor (1998); it was released as a single on 8 March 1999, reaching number 45 on the UK Singles Chart. The song experienced chart success after it was remixed by DJ Boris Dlugosch, peaking at number four in the UK in September 1999. Murphy had started writing the lyrics while clubbing in New York City, and knew the song was at heart a dance track, but the group wanted to record it in a different artistic fashion for its album version.

Plastic Raygun was a record label based in Cardiff, the capital of Wales, that specialised in breakbeat artists. The company was formed in the mid-1990s by Maf Lewis, Steven Robson and Neil Cocker organising and hosting concerts, featuring artists such as the Propellerheads and Bentley Rhythm Ace. They followed in 2000 with an official record label adding label manager Sam Evans.

Never Enough is a song by German electronic musician Boris Dlugosch featuring the vocals of Róisín Murphy from Moloko. "No Time for Tears" is a song released by English DJ and producer Nathan Dawe and by British girl group Little Mix. It was released on 25 November 2020 by Atlantic Records UK and Warner Music UK. The song was written by Jade Thirlwall, MNEK, alongside with Nathan Dawe, and Tre Jean-Marie; the latter who also produced the single. It was the last single that Little Mix released as a quartet, before Jesy Nelson left the group in December 2020. The track reached number nineteen on the UK Singles Chart and was certified silver by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI). It was later included on the expanded edition of Little Mix's sixth studio album Confetti (2020).
