The UC Irvine Anteaters are the athletic teams fielded by the University of California, Irvine. Its athletics programs participate in the NCAA's Division I, as members of the Big West Conference and the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation. For earlier years of the school's existence, the teams participated at the Division II level with great success as explained below.
Francis Joseph Dunphy is an American college basketball coach, who is the head coach of the La Salle Explorers of the Atlantic 10 Conference. He is the former men's basketball coach at Temple University and the University of Pennsylvania. He succeeded John Chaney in 2006 and was succeeded by Aaron McKie in 2019. In June 2020, Dunphy was named interim athletic director of Temple. In 2022, he was named the men's basketball coach of the La Salle Explorers.
Brian Plotkin is the head Coach of the Army Black Knights men's soccer team and is a retired professional soccer player.
Amos Parker Foster was an American college football and college basketball player and coach in the early 1900s. He was a 1904 graduate of Dartmouth College where he lettered in both basketball and football. Foster served as the head football coach at the University of Cincinnati (1904–1905), the University of Nebraska (1906), and Miami University (1907–1908), compiling a career college football coaching record of 30–9. He was also the head basketball coach at Cincinnati for five seasons from 1904 to 1909, tallying a mark of 30–10. After coaching he practiced law in Ohio.
Edward Richard DeChellis is an American college basketball coach and current head men's basketball coach at the United States Naval Academy. Previously he was the head coach at Penn State from 2003-2011 and at East Tennessee State from 1996-2003. At Penn State, DeChellis led the Nittany Lions to an NIT Title in 2009 and an NCAA tournament berth in 2011. DeChellis' years at East Tennessee State yielded three conference division titles and one NCAA tournament berth. He was named the head coach at Navy in 2011, following the departure of Billy Lange.
The Cincinnati Bearcats men's basketball program represents the University of Cincinnati in Cincinnati, Ohio. The school's team competes in NCAA Division I as part of the American Athletic Conference though they will move to the Big 12 conference on July 1, 2023. The Bearcats are currently coached by Wes Miller.
Carl Rees is the head coach of the Fairfield Stags men's soccer team where he was the 1998 NSCAA New England Coach of the Year and the 1998, 2011 and 2017 MAAC Coach of the Year. Rees is a USSF academy national team scout. As a player he was a schoolboy footballer with Everton FC from age 14–17 before training full-time with the club. He joined Liverpool FC age 17–18. He represented the England FA team in 1983. After a successful college career Rees spent two seasons in the American Soccer League and at least one in the USISL. Rees started his coaching career in 1990 after a career ending injury.
The Indiana Hoosiers men's soccer team represents Indiana University Bloomington. The team is a member of the Big Ten Conference of the National Collegiate Athletic Association.
David Masur is a retired American soccer midfielder who played professionally in the Major Indoor Soccer League, American Professional Soccer League and USISL. He is the head coach of the St. John's University men's soccer team. He was the 1996 NCAA Division I Coach of the Year and led the Red Storm to the 1996 NCAA national championship.
The Dartmouth Big Green men's lacrosse team represents Dartmouth College in NCAA Division I men's lacrosse. Dartmouth competes as a member of the Ivy League and plays its home games at Scully-Fahey Field in Hanover, New Hampshire. Dartmouth fielded its first lacrosse team in 1926.

Bob Warming is an American soccer coach is currently a technical advisor for Union Omaha in USL League One. A veteran college soccer coach, Warming has coached eight other men's college soccer programs across the United States, including Penn State University, his previous coaching stint, and Creighton University, on two separate stints. Additionally, Warming has coached at Old Dominion University and University of North Carolina at Charlotte, both NCAA Division I institions.
Barry Gorman is a collegiate soccer coach. He most recently served as the head men's soccer coach at Penn State University from 1987 to 2009, before being replaced by Bob Warming. He is Penn State's all-time winningest soccer coach, compiling 266 victories in 22 seasons. He is a three time NSCAA Regional Coach of the Year, having won the award in the 1992, 1999, and 2005 seasons. He also won Big Ten Coach of the Year honors in 2005. He has led his team to 13 NCAA tournament appearances, advancing to the round of 16 four times and to the national quarterfinals twice, and three Big 10 regular season championships. Prior to his time as head coach, Gorman also served as an assistant for two years under Walter Bahr.
The South Florida Bulls men's soccer team represents the University of South Florida in the sport of soccer. The Bulls currently compete in the American Athletic Conference within the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). USF plays in Corbett Stadium, which opened in 2011 and is also used by the USF women's soccer team. Prior to that, they played at USF Soccer Field from their first season in 1965 until 1978 and USF Soccer Stadium from 1979 until 2010. They are coached by Bob Butehorn, who is in his sixth year with the Bulls as of the 2022 season.

Michigan entered the season as the defending regular season champions, while Wisconsin entered the season as the defending tournament champions.

The 2019 season is Jeff Cook's second year at the helm.
