John W. Patterson at All About Jazz gave Jennifer Batten's Tribal Rage: Momentum a glowing review, saying "I've never heard anyone do anything quite like Batten's continuous stream of note-bending, tapping, swells, controlled feedback, harmonics, and lightning-fast riffs." He likened the album to Batten's popular guitarist peers, but also that "She goes beyond [Steve] Vai's insane excursions and tops it off by tipping her hat and then running past [Joe] Satriani's finer weirdness." Praise was also given to her supporting musicians: "There is some seriously cool bass work and severely challenging percussion happening here as well." [2]

Ah Via Musicom is the second studio album by guitarist Eric Johnson, released in 1990 through Capitol Records. The album reached No. 67 on the U.S. Billboard 200 and remained on that chart for 60 weeks. All four singles charted on Billboard's Mainstream Rock chart, with three of them being top 10 hits: "High Landrons" at No. 31, "Righteous" at No. 8, "Cliffs of Dover" at No. 5 and "Trademark" at No. 7. "Cliffs of Dover" went on to win the Award for Best Rock Instrumental Performance at the 1992 Grammys.
Prolonging the Magic is the third studio album by American alternative rock band Cake. It was released on October 6, 1998, on Capricorn Records. The sole successful single was "Never There". The album was recorded after the departure of guitarist Greg Brown and features a rotating lineup of musicians to replace him. One of them, Xan McCurdy, became his full-time replacement. On its opening week, Prolonging the Magic sold about 44,000 copies, debuting at No. 33 on the Billboard 200 chart. On 28 September 1999 the album was certified platinum by the RIAA for shipments of one million copies.

Earth is an American rock band based in Olympia, Washington and led by the guitarist Dylan Carlson. Initially active between 1989 and 1997, their early work is characterized by heavy guitar distortion, drones, and lengthy, minimalist song structures; their 1993 debut album Earth 2 is recognized as a pioneering work of the drone metal genre. The band resurfaced in the early 2000s, with their subsequent output reducing the distortion and incorporating elements of country, jazz rock, and folk. Just One Night is the fourth studio album by English singer Samantha Fox. It was released on 21 June 1991 by Jive Records. In addition to longtime collaborators Full Force, the album also features production from Robert Clivillés and David Cole of C+C Music Factory. The lead single, "(Hurt Me! Hurt Me!) But the Pants Stay On", had some radio airplay, but failed to receive much attention. Who Else! is the seventh studio album by guitarist Jeff Beck, released on 16 March 1999 through Epic Records. The album reached No. 99 on the U.S. Billboard 200 and marks the end of a decade-long absence of original material from Beck since the release of Jeff Beck's Guitar Shop in 1989. Stylistically it showcases the first addition of electronic and techno music into his repertoire, along with the blues-based instrumental rock and jazz fusion of previous albums.

In 2008 - 2017 he toured regularly in a duo with fusion guitarist Larry Coryell.

Eyes of the World is a studio album by the band MacAlpine, released in 1990 through PolyGram. MacAlpine was a short-lived project by guitarist Tony MacAlpine, and the album is a departure from his previous work in that it is more commercially oriented, with none of his usual instrumental tracks in the style of neoclassical metal or piano études.
