Jenny Fransson (born 17 July 1987 in Karlstad) is a female freestyle wrestler from Sweden who participated in Women's freestyle wrestling 72 kg at the 2008, 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics.

At the 2008 Summer Olympics, in the 1/8 final she lost 1:3 to Wang Jiao, then in the repechage round Fransson lost to Ali Bernard from United States.

At the 2012 Summer Olympics, she reached the second round, where she lost to Stanka Zlateva. [1] In the repechage, she lost to Vasilisa Marzalyuk. [1]

At the 2016 Summer Olympics, she won a bronze medal, coming through the repechage. [2]

She won a gold medal at the 2018 European Wrestling Championships and a bronze medal at the 2019 and 2008 European Wrestling Championships.

On February 3, 2020, it was announced that Jenny Fransson tested positive in a doping test for the illicit substance methyltestosterone, an anabolic steroid. This led to her being permanently removed from the 2020 Olympic squad and she was also excluded from the Swedish Olympic Committee's support program Top and Talent. [3]

Wrestling at the 2012 Summer Olympics were held between 5 and 12 August, the final day of the Games, at ExCeL London. It was split into two disciplines, Freestyle and Greco-Roman which were further divided into different weight categories. Men competed in both disciplines whereas women only took part in the freestyle events, with 18 gold medals awarded. Wrestling has been contested at every modern Summer Olympic Games, except Paris 1900.

Zhuldyz Eshimova is a Kyrgyz-born female wrestler who competes for Kazakhstan. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, she competed in the women's -48 kg freestyle division, losing to Vanessa Kolodinskaya in the second round. At the 2016 Summer Olympics, she competed in the same division. She lost to eventual gold medalist Eri Tosaka in her first match. Because Tosaka reached the gold medal round, Eshimova took part in the repechage. She beat Haley Augello in the first round of the repechage, but lost to Sun Yanan in her bronze medal match.

Anastasija Grigorjeva is a Latvian freestyle wrestler, who won gold at the 2010, 2013 and 2016 European Championships. She has also won two bronze medals at World Championship level and won gold at the European Games. She has competed at three Olympics.

Aisuluu Tynybekova is a Kyrgyz freestyle wrestler. She won the silver medal in the women's 62 kg event at the 2020 Summer Olympics held in Tokyo, Japan. She also competed in the women's 63 kg event at the 2012 Summer Olympics, the first woman to wrestle for Kyrgyzstan in the Olympics. A legal dispute threatened to prevent Tynybekova from competing in London, but the case was delayed until after the Games. Tynybekova was eliminated in the 1/8 finals by Henna Johansson.

Marwa Al-Amri is a Tunisian freestyle wrestler. She was born in Tunis. She represented Tunisia in the women's lightweight freestyle competition at the 2008, 2012, 2016 and 2020 Summer Olympics. She is the first woman from Africa win an Olympic medal in wrestling.

Olga Vladimirovna Smirnova is an amateur Russian-born Kazakhstani freestyle wrestler, who played for the women's lightweight category. She is a two-time Olympian, a three-time medalist at the European Senior Championships, and a gold medalist for the 50 kg class at the 1996 World Wrestling Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria. Smirnova also added a silver medal from the 2006 Asian Games in Doha, Qatar, and bronze from the 2007 World Wrestling Championships in Baku, Azerbaijan, representing her adopted nation Kazakhstan.

Jillian Alice Gallays is Canadian freestyle wrestler. She won the bronze medal at the 53kg event at the 2014 World Wrestling Championships, and is a 2016 Olympian.
