The Boston Bruins are a professional ice hockey team based in Boston. The Bruins compete in the National Hockey League (NHL) as a member of the Atlantic Division in the Eastern Conference. The team has been in existence since 1924,making them the third-oldest active team in the NHL,and the oldest in the United States.

Brian Joseph Gionta is an American former professional ice hockey player who played 16 seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL). Gionta began his NHL career in 2001 with the New Jersey Devils and served as captain for both the Montreal Canadiens and the Buffalo Sabres. He also was the captain for the United States in the 2018 Winter Olympics,for which he stepped away from the NHL for most of its 2017–18 season. After the Olympics,he briefly played for the Boston Bruins,and retired following their elimination from the playoffs.

Peter Maxwell McNab was a Canadian-born American professional ice hockey player. He played 14 seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL) from 1973 to 1987,with the Buffalo Sabres,Boston Bruins,Vancouver Canucks,and New Jersey Devils. He later served as the color commentator for the Colorado Avalanche from their inaugural 1995–96 season until his death.
Daniel Joseph Paille is a Canadian former professional ice hockey left winger. He was originally drafted 20th overall by the Buffalo Sabres in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft and also played in the National Hockey League with the Boston Bruins and New York Rangers.
The Buffalo Bisons were an American Hockey League ice hockey franchise that played from 1940 to 1970 in Buffalo,New York. They replaced the original Buffalo Bisons hockey team,which left the area in 1936 after its arena collapsed. They were the second professional hockey team to play their games in the Buffalo city proper,after the short-lived Buffalo Majors of the early 1930s;the previous Bisons team had played across the border at an arena in Fort Erie,Ontario.

Charles Marvin Jacobs is the co-Chief Executive Officer of Delaware North,a role he shares with his brothers,Jerry and Lou. Jacobs is also Chief Executive Officer and Alternate Governor for the Boston Bruins. He is the Founder and Chairman of the Boston Bruins Foundation,having raised more than $62 million for charitable organizations throughout New England since 2003.

Jeremy Maurice Jacobs Jr. is an American businessman who serves as the co-chief executive officer of Delaware North and an alternate governor for the Boston Bruins.
Louis Melvin Jacobs,was an American businessman and sports team owner. Notable for starting the SportService empire that ended up becoming Delaware North. He also was an owner of the Cincinnati Royals of the National Basketball League,as well as the Buffalo Bisons and the Providence Reds of the American Hockey League and was an operating manager of the Buffalo Memorial Auditorium.
