Jesse Jantzen (born February 5, 1982) is the founder of Skylar James Capital, a multi-strategy family office. [1] Previously Jantzen was a portfolio manager at Clearview Capital Management and held positions at Perella Weinberg Partners and W Holding Company LLC and as an assistant coach for Harvard University. [1] Jantzen currently sits on the board of the fetal center for the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and the Beat the Streets (BTS) organization. He is also a former freestyle and folkstyle wrestler.

Jesse received an A.B from Harvard University in 2004. He was a three-time All-American and 2004 National Champion and Outstanding Wrestler award winner. [2] [3] [4] [5] In 2005 Jesse won a World Championship at the University World Games in Izmir, Turkey in Freestyle wrestling at 66 kg. [2] [6] [4] Jesse participated in the Real Pro Wrestling league representing the New York Outrage. [4] He is the most decorated Harvard Wrestler in history and was a 2004 Bingham Award winner for Harvard’s best athlete. [2] Some detractors suggested that because of his reliance on mat wrestling, he would not fare well in freestyle, which focuses on takedowns. Jantzen developed a series of moves on top known as the “Jantzen Ride.” Career record at Harvard 132-13, 3-time All-American (1st, 3rd, 3rd). [2] Jesse competed in the 2008 Olympic Trials but fell short of his goal of making the Beijing Olympics. [7] Jesse is a member of the Harvard Varsity Club Hall of Fame, EIWA Conference Hall of Fame and Suffolk County Hall of fame. [8] [9] [10]

Jesse has had involvement with several Film/TV projects ( Foxcatcher , Dixieland , The Knick , Team Foxcatcher) as an actor, producer, financier and stunt coordinator. [11] He was acknowledged in Variety magazine for his work in Foxcatcher . [12] Movie critic Justin Chang applauded Jantzen’s choreographed wrestling scenes as “superbly convincing”. [12]

He was a graduate of Shoreham Wading River High School. [7] [2] He was the first 4x State Champion and 6x state place winner in New York State wrestling history. [13] [9] [5] He was a 3x High School All-American and 2x National Champion/Outstanding Wrestler award winner. [5] [7] [2] In 2000, he was the Asics High School Wrestler of the Year [5] [7] and was named the Junior Hodge Trophy winner the same year. [14] Jesse was inducted into the Suffolk Sports Hall of Fame on Long Island in the Wrestling Category with the Class of 2011.

Jesse lives and works in downtown Manhattan. [1] Jantzen is one of five children. [2] His younger brother, Corey, was also an accomplished wrestler for Harvard University and Shoreham Wading River High School. [15] Corey worked with Jesse on both Foxcatcher and Dixieland , where he had credited roles in each film. [16]

Greco-Roman, Graeco-Roman, classic wrestling is a style of wrestling that is practiced worldwide. Greco-Roman wrestling was included in the first modern Olympic Games in 1896 and has been in every edition of the summer Olympics held since 1904. This style of wrestling forbids holds below the waist, which is the main feature that differentiates it from freestyle wrestling. This restriction results in an emphasis on throws, because a wrestler cannot use trips to bring an opponent to the ground or hook/grab the opponent's leg to avoid being thrown.

The Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association (EIWA) is an NCAA Division I collegiate wrestling conference. It held its first championship tournament in 1905, making it the oldest wrestling conference in the NCAA. The EIWA's charter members were Columbia, Penn, Princeton, and Yale. Thirty-two different schools have been members of the EIWA during its history, all schools from the Eastern United States. Its current members are schools in the Northeast whose main conferences do not sponsor wrestling, including the Patriot League, America East Conference, Northeast Conference, and Coastal Athletic Association. Franklin & Marshall is the only Division III school that competes in Division I wrestling.

Mark Kerr is an American former wrestler and mixed martial artist. During his MMA career, he was a two-time UFC Heavyweight Tournament Champion, World Vale Tudo Championship tournament winner, and a PRIDE FC competitor. In collegiate wrestling, Kerr was a NCAA Division I champion. In freestyle wrestling, he won gold and silver medals at the World Cup and silver at the Pan American Games. In submission wrestling, Kerr is a four-time ADCC World Champion, winning his weightclass twice along with the absolute division and the Superfight Championship.

Leslie Lyle Gutches is an American former wrestler and coach. His accomplishments include becoming a World Champion in freestyle wrestling at the 1997 World Wrestling Championships, the Dan Hodge Trophy as the nation's best college wrestler in 1996, becoming the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) champion in the 177 lb. weight division in both 1995 and 1996, earning All-American status in 1994, 1995 & 1996, becoming a member of the 1996 United States Olympics freestyle wrestling team and winning numerous other tournaments and honors.

Mark Philip Schultz is a former American freestyle wrestler. Schultz was a 3-time NCAA champion, Olympic champion and 2-time World champion. In 1995, Schultz was inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame as a Distinguished Member. He is also in the San Jose Sports Hall of Fame, the California Wrestling Hall of Fame, and the San Mateo Peninsula Sports Hall of Fame.

Shoreham-Wading River High School is a public secondary school located in Shoreham, New York. The school serves about 800 students in grades 9 to 12 in the Shoreham-Wading River Central School District.


Matt Valenti is a two-time NCAA Division I national champion wrestler from the University of Pennsylvania. He won the 133 pound weight class at the NCAA tournament in both 2006 and 2007 and finished in 5th place in 2004 at 125 pounds. He is currently the Associate Athletic Director for Student Development at the University of Pennsylvania.

Akbaş won the world freestyle title in 1954, 1957, 1959 and 1962, placing third in 1955 and 1961 and fourth in 1965. In 2011 he was inducted into the United World Wrestling Hall of Fame.

The Penn State Nittany Lions wrestling program is an intercollegiate varsity sport at Pennsylvania State University. The wrestling team is a competing member of the Big Ten Conference and the National Collegiate Athletic Association. The Nittany Lions compete at Rec Hall in State College, Pennsylvania, on the campus of Pennsylvania State University. The Nittany Lions have claimed 13 team National Championship titles and 55 individual NCAA National Championship titles.

Robert Hugh Peery was an American wrestler. He won a gold medal at the 1951 Pan American Games, and he competed in the men's freestyle flyweight at the 1952 Summer Olympics. He also worked as a dentist for more than 50 years.

John Michael "Yianni" Diakomihalis is an American freestyle and folkstyle wrestler who competes at 65 kilograms and 149 pounds. In freestyle, he is the 2022 World silver medalist, a two-time US World Team member, the 2020 Pan American champion, the 2019 US Open national champion, and a two-time age-group World champion. As a collegiate wrestler, Diakomihalis was a four-time NCAA Division I champion and four-time EIWA champion out of Cornell University.

Gabriel Curtis Dean is an American retired freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestler and graduated folkstyle wrestler who formerly competed at 86 kilograms. In freestyle, he was the 2020 US National Champion, a '17 Pan American Championship medalist, and a '14 Junior World Championship medalist. He was also the '15 Pan American Championship runner–up in Greco-Roman. As a collegiate wrestler, Dean was a two–time NCAA Division I champion, a four–time EIWA Conference champion, and a four–time NCAA Division I All-American for the Cornell Big Red.
