Jessica Burroughs (born November 2,1993) is an American former collegiate All-American professional softball pitcher. [2] [3] She played college softball at Florida State,being named a four-time all-conference and back-to-back Pitcher of the Year in her last two seasons. [4] [5] She would help the Seminoles to a semifinal finish at the 2016 Women's College World Series. [6] Burroughs was selected first overall by the USSSA Pride in the 2017 NPF Draft. She went on to play for and win consecutive titles with the Pride in 2018 and 2019. She later played in the inaugural season of the Athletes Unlimited Softball league in 2020. [7]
Burroughs was born to parents Alesia Taylor and Joe Burroughs on November 2,1993,in Warner Robins,Georgia. Burroughs attended Houston County High School where she lettered in softball four times. She graduated in 2012.[ citation needed ]
Burroughs signed to play college softball at Florida State Seminoles,although she redshirted in 2013. In 2014 and 2015,Burroughs was an effective backup to Lacey Waldrop,earning All-ACC second team honors in both seasons. Burroughs was named the ACC Pitcher of the Year in 2016,as well as a Third Team All-American. She was named ACC Pitcher of the Year again in 2017 and a First Team All-American.[ citation needed ]
Burroughs was drafted as the first overall pick in the 2017 NPF Draft by the USSSA Florida Pride,becoming the first player ever out of the ACC to be drafted at number one. [8]

Natasha Renee Watley is an American,former collegiate four-time first-team All-American,two-time medal winning Olympian,retired seven-time pro-All-Star softball player. Watley played college softball at UCLA,and helped the Bruins win a national championship. She represented the United States women's national softball team at the 2004 Summer Olympics. She won a gold medal,and again at the 2008 Summer Olympics,and won a silver medal.
Angela Tincher O'Brien is an American,former collegiate All-American,retired professional All-Star softball pitcher and coach. She most recently served as the pitching coach at Virginia Tech. She was a 2008 first-round draft selection for the NPF Akron Racers. She is a graduate of James River High School and a 2008 graduate of Virginia Tech. In 2013,she was hired as Virginia Tech's softball pitching coach where she owns numerous school records. She is the ACC career leader in wins,strikeouts,shutouts,innings pitched,strikeout ratio and no-hitters,while also ranking in several records for the NCAA Division I,where she is one of five pitchers to achieve 100 wins,1,000 strikeouts,an ERA under 1.00 and average double-digit strikeouts for her career.
Megan Lynn Gibson-Loftin is an American,former collegiate All-American,professional softball pitcher and current director of softball operations for Twelve Softball. She is also the former pitching coach at Houston. Gibson-Loftin played college softball for Texas A&M where she is the career leader in offense walks and led them to a runner-up finish at the 2008 Women's College World Series. She also ranks top-10 in the latter category and home runs in the Big 12 Conference. She was selected by the Philadelphia Force as the second overall pick in the 2008 NPF Draft,eventually playing for four seasons. After the Force folded she was picked up by the Tennessee Diamonds in 2010.
Caitlin Faith Lowe-Nagy is the head coach of the Arizona Wildcats softball team. Lowe is a former collegiate four-time first team All-American and medal winning Olympian. She played college softball for Arizona and led her team in back-to-back Women's College World Series championships in 2006 and 2007. She won a silver medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics. Lowe played with National Pro Fastpitch's USSSA Pride for six seasons,winning three titles and being named 2012 Player of the Year,before officially retiring in 2015.
Kelly Sue Kretschman is an American former nine-time professional All-Star softball outfielder and current head coach for the USSSA Pride of the Women's Professional Fastpitch (WPF). Kretschman played college softball at Alabama where she is the career leader in doubles and total bases. As a member of the United States women's national softball team,she won a gold medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics and a silver medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics. She also played in the National Pro Fastpitch with four teams including her longest tenure with the USSSA Pride;where she is the all-time career leader in RBIs,hits,doubles and base on balls. She also owns numerous records for the Tide and is one of select NCAA Division I players to bat .400 with 300 hits,200 runs and 100 stolen bases for her career.
Charlotte Lee Morgan is an American former professional softball pitcher and current head coach for Cal State Northridge. She played college softball for Alabama from 2007 to 2010,where she is the career leader for the school in RBIs,also ranking top-15 in the NCAA Division I. She was also named a four-time all-conference honoree and twice named SEC Player of the Year. Morgan was the No. 1 draft pick in the 2010 National Pro Fastpitch Senior Draft,beginning her career with The USSSA Pride based in Kissimmee,Florida,winning a title in 2010. In 2020,Morgan was named the head coach of the California State University,Northridge softball team after previously working at several colleges as a pitching coach.
The Florida State Seminoles women's softball team represents Florida State University in the sport of softball. Florida State competes in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) and the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC).
Sierra Joy Romero is a Mexican American professional softball player. She formerly was a volunteer assistant softball coach for the Oregon Ducks softball team. She played college softball for Michigan from 2013 to 2016,where she set numerous records and was a four-time All-American. She holds the Big Ten Conference career Triple Crown,along with the total bases and slugging percentage records,simultaneously leading all of the NCAA Division I in runs scored and grand slams. She was the inaugural winner of both the espnW Softball Player of the Year in 2015 and the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Player of the Year in 2016,when she also took home the Honda Sports Award Softball Player of the Year and USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year awards. She is one of nine NCAA players to hit .400 with 200 RBIs,50 home runs and an .800 slugging percentage for her career and was named the #5 Greatest College Softball Player.
Lacey Waldrop is an American,former collegiate All-American professional softball pitcher and current assistant coach at Houston. Waldrop was a starting pitcher for Florida State,where she is the school career leader in wins and was named USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year in 2014. Waldrop was drafted third overall in the 2015 NPF Draft by the Chicago Bandits,and won two consecutive Cowles Cup championships with the Bandits in 2015 and 2016.
The 2015 National Pro Fastpitch season was the 12th season of professional softball under the name National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) for the only professional women's softball league in the United States. From 1997 to 2002,NPF operated under the names Women's Pro Fastpitch (WPF) and Women's Pro Softball League (WPSL). Each year,the playoff teams battle for the Cowles Cup.
The 2017 NPF College Draft is the 14th annual collegiate draft for National Pro Fastpitch. It took place April 24,2017 7:00 CT in Nashville,Tennessee at Acme Feed &Seed,a downtown entertainment venue. It was available for internet viewing via NPFTV,the league's streaming platform. Lauren Nicole Chamberlain is an American retired softball infielder. Chamberlain played college softball for the Oklahoma Sooners softball from 2012 to 2015. A collegiate All-American,she was part of the 2013 Women's College World Series championship team. She is the NCAA Division I career leader in slugging percentage. She also holds the school and Big 12 Conference career lead in RBIs,walks,total bases and runs. She was drafted #1 and played professional softball for the USSSA Pride of National Pro Fastpitch from 2015 to 2018,winning a title in her final season in 2018.
The USSSA Pride is a professional softball team based in Viera,Florida and a former member of Women's Professional Fastpitch (WPF). Founded in 2009,they previously played in National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) from 2009 to 2019. They play their home games at USSSA Space Coast Complex.
Sara Angeline Groenewegen is a Canadian professional softball pitcher. From 2014 to 2017,Groenewegen pitched for the University of Minnesota,where she hold the all-time strikeouts and strikeout ratio records. She also currently still ranks for both the Big Ten Conference and the NCAA Division I in the ratio category. She played professionally for the Canadian Wild in the NPF since being drafted second overall in 2017. She most recently played for Athletes Unlimited Softball. She has been a member of the Canada women's national softball team since 2013. Groenewegen helped Team Canada win a bronze medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics.
Kelly Katlyn Barnhill is an American professional softball pitcher. She played college softball for the Florida Gators from 2016 to 2019,earning All-American honors during her tenure with the team. She was named the USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year,Honda Sports Award,and espnW Player of the Year in 2017. She is the career no hitters (7),strikeouts,strikeout ratio (10.5) and WHIP leader for the Gators. She also ranks in career strikeout ratio for both the Southeastern Conference and the NCAA Division I.
Jolene Nicole Henderson is an American,former collegiate All-American,professional All-Star,right-handed hitting softball pitcher and first baseman and softball Assistant Coach,originally from Elk Grove,California. She was a starting pitcher for the California Golden Bears from 2010–13 where she is the career leader in wins and was a 4-time All-Pac-12 player. She is the reigning National Pro Fastpitch Pitcher of The Year after being drafted #3 overall in 2013 and currently ranks top-10 in career wins,ERA,WHIP and fielding percentage and is on the roster for the independent softball team the USSSA Pride. She also played on the United States women's national softball team in 2014.
Paige Nicole Parker is an American,former collegiate four-time All-American,professional softball pitcher and current assistant head coach at Utah. She played college softball at Oklahoma,and won back-to-back National Championships with the Sooners in 2016 and 2017. Parker is a career record holder for perfect games (4) for the school and also ranks top-10 in the Big 12 Conference and the NCAA Division I for the same category. She was drafted sixth overall in the 2018 NPF Draft and went on to play for the USSSA Pride.
Jessica "Jessie" Lynn Warren is an American,former collegiate All-American,professional softball player. She played college softball for the Florida State Seminoles,winning the 2018 Women's College World Series national title as a senior,and was subsequently named Most Outstanding Player for the series.
Amanda Lorenz is an American professional softball player and member of the United States women's national softball team. She played college softball at Florida,where she was named NFCA National Freshman of the Year in 2016. Following her college career,she played professionally for USSSA Pride. She most recently played in the Athletes Unlimited Pro Softball league where she won the 2024 championship as the top individual points leader.
Jennifer Salling is a Canadian,former collegiate All-American,medal-winning Olympian and professional softball player. She played college softball at Oregon and Washington,and won a national championship at Washington in 2009. She has also played professionally in the National Pro Fastpitch for the USSSA Pride,Pennsylvania Rebellion and most recently the Canadian Wild. She represented Canada at the 2020 Summer Olympics,where she set the tournament batting average record for a single Olympic games,and won a bronze medal.
