Bronco is a Mexican grupero band originating from Apodaca, Nuevo León. Their modern take on regional Mexican music in the 1980s and 1990s helped earn them international recognition with original band members José Guadalupe "Lupe" Esparza, Ramiro Delgado, Javier Villareal, and José Luis "Choche" Villareal creating music that would go on to top record charts. The band is well known for their use of modern instruments, particularly the synthesizer and musical keyboards, as part of the incorporation of pop-style music. As with many grupera bands, members wore matching jumpsuits.

Hurricane Alex was a rare June Atlantic hurricane and the first tropical cyclone to develop in the 2010 Atlantic hurricane season. Originating from an area of disturbed weather on June 25, 2010, it slowly developed in the western Caribbean Sea and struck Belize as a strong tropical storm. After entering the Gulf of Mexico, Alex became very large and encountered conditions favorable for gradual development. Early on June 30, the cyclone attained hurricane status as it approached northeastern Mexico, the first June hurricane in the Atlantic basin since Hurricane Allison in 1995, and the storm rapidly intensified just off the coast of Tamaulipas. Alex made landfall near Soto la Marina as a Category 2 hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale. Alex rapidly weakened after landfall, with the storm losing its tropical status on July 2, before fully dissipating on July 6.
Songs for Eleonor, or SFE, is an electropop, New Folk, Emotional Melody band founded in Mexico City. SFE was formed during the last months of 2005 by Karen Ruiz, of British Mother and Mexican father, and Andrés Almeida. She has performed in important music venues such as Auditorio Nacional in México City (with Julieta Venegas in 2007, Belanova in 2008, and Juan Gabriel in 2009., and Hidden Agenda in Hong Kong, as well as performing in international music festivals like Vive Latino in México City ,, Playtime in Ulaanbaatar Mongolia, Meet in Beijing in China, and Altavoz in Medellín, Colombia. Elis Paprika has also performed internationally in North and South America, South East and East Asia, and Europe. She was named "Artist of the Month" on MTV Latin America in August 2006. Musicians in her band have varied throughout the years, and her current live and recording band is called The Black Pilgrims. Elis started her career in Guadalajara Jalisco, Mexico.

The Mariachis de Guadalajara were a professional baseball team in the Mexican League based in Zapopan, Jalisco. Their home ballpark was the Estadio Panamericano, with a capacity of 16,500 people. The Mariachis were established in December 2020 and started playing in the 2021 season.

The Battle of Doctor Coss was an armed conflict in Mexico between the Gulf Cartel and the Los Zetas-Northeast Cartel in the municipality of Doctor Coss, Nuevo León. The confrontation was one of the most serious in the region, disputed by both cartels due to their proximity to border municipalities of the neighboring state of Tamaulipas.
