Ben Webb, known by the stage name Jinnwoo, [2] is an English musician, artist, and writer based in Brighton.
After gigging pubs and clubs for numerous years, Jinnwoo independently released his debut EP Your Baby in 2014, [3] as well as featuring on Kyla La Grange's second studio album Cut Your Teeth .[ citation needed ] This led to him being listed as one of The Independent's "10 faces to watch for 2015". [1]
He released his first full-length album, Strangers Bring Me No Light, in 2016. [4] The album featured guest appearances from the Kyla La Grange, Georgia Ruth, Alasdair Roberts, Malcolm Middleton, Rachael Dadd, Kamila Thompson, Noah Georgeson, The Earlies, and Hannah Peel. The album received critical acclaim from The Independent [5] and Songwriting magazine. [2]
In July 2016 he performed at the Cambridge Folk Festival. [6] Later that year, he released a live EP, Ozzy Wood. Roisin O'Connor, reviewing it for The Independent, described the recording as "exquisite". [7] He also announced he was working with a new folk collective called Bird in the Belly. [7] They released their debut album The Crowing in March 2018. It was album of week in the Daily Express , who also labelled it "Folk album of the year". [8]
In July 2019 his band Green Ribbons (a collaboration with Frankie Armstrong, Alasdair Roberts and Burd Ellen) released an eponymous album consisting of a capella singing. [9]
On the 23 April 2021, Jinnwoo announced the released of his new single "Milk", via Charlie Andrew's label Square Leg Records. [10] The single was track of the day on Folk Radio UK, [11] and listed as one of the tracks of the week on God Is in the TV . [12]
Jinnwoo's art and photography has appeared in a range of publications including The Guardian , fRoots , and Beijing Today ,[ citation needed ] and he has produced album covers for artists including The Rails, [13] Kami Thompson [14] and Lisa Knapp. [15]
Jinnwoo's debut book, Little Hollywood, was published in January 2020. [16] Novelist and critic Dennis Cooper described it as one of his favourite books of the year. [17]

Róisín Marie Murphy is an Irish singer, songwriter and record producer. She first became known in the 1990s as one half of the pop duo Moloko alongside English musician Mark Brydon. After the breakup of Moloko, she embarked on a solo career and released her debut solo album Ruby Blue to critical praise in 2005. Her second solo album, Overpowered, was released in 2007.
Alasdair Roberts is a Scottish folk musician. He released a number of albums under the name Appendix Out and, following the 2001 album The Night Is Advancing, under his own name. Roberts is also known for his frequent collaborations with other musicians and writers, as well as for being a member of the folk supergroup The Furrow Collective.

Aoife O'Donovan is an American singer and Grammy award-winning songwriter. She is best known as the lead singer for the string band Crooked Still and she also co-founded the Grammy Award-winning female folk trio I'm with Her. She has released three critically acclaimed studio albums: Fossils (2013), In the Magic Hour (2016), and Age of Apathy, as well as multiple noteworthy live recordings and EPs, including Blue Light (2010), Peachstone (2012), Man in a Neon Coat: Live From Cambridge (2016), In the Magic Hour: Solo Sessions (2019), and Bull Frog's Croon (2020). She also spent a decade contributing to the radio variety shows Live from Here and A Prairie Home Companion. Her first professional engagement was singing lead for the folk group The Wayfaring Strangers.
Kamila Thompson is a singer-songwriter based in London and New York. She is more commonly known as Kami Thompson. She has been seen touring with Bonny Prince Billy, Teddy Thompson, Sean Lennon and others, as well as appearances with the Wainwright clan at Carnegie Hall and with a host of illustrious artists at Hal Willner's "Came So Far for Beauty" Leonard Cohen tribute in Dublin. Her debut recording, an EP Bad Marriage, was released in June 2010. Her debut album Love Lies was released in the UK on Warner Music in 2011. Thompson also performs and records as part of the band The Rails with husband James Walbourne. The band's first EP Habit was released on Edwyn Collins' label AED Records in early 2012, and their debut album Fair Warning was released on Island Records' legendary Pink label on 5 May 2014.
The Unthanks are an English folk group known for their eclectic approach in combining traditional English folk, particularly Northumbrian folk music, with other musical genres. Their debut album, Cruel Sister, was Mojo magazine's Folk Album of the Year in 2005. Of their subsequent albums, nine have received four or five-starred reviews in the British national press. Their album Mount the Air, released in 2015, won in the best album category in the 2016 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards. In 2017 they released two albums featuring the songs and poems of Molly Drake, mother of singer-songwriter and musician Nick Drake.
Irish singer and songwriter Róisín Murphy has released six studio albums, one live album, one remix album, five extended plays, 33 singles and 18 music videos. Murphy debuted in 1995 as lead singer of the electronic music duo Moloko. The duo achieved success in the United Kingdom, producing four top 20 singles. Sam Sallon is an English musician, singer and songwriter. Born in London and raised in Manchester, he is the fourth child of eight. His first release Kathy's Song EP was released on Indigo-Octagon in January 2013, followed by the debut album One for the Road in September that year. In April 2014 Sallon picked up three awards at the Exposure Music Awards in London including Best Act Overall. In June 2014 he won an international Independent Music Award in the best Folk/Singer-songwriter category for his song "You Are Home". He has performed solo at the Royal Albert Hall opening for Pete Doherty, the Royal Festival Hall opening for Lyle Lovett and the Queen Elizabeth Hall opening for the Neil Cowley Trio. Other notable support slots have been with Lucy Rose, Johnny Flynn, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Nick Harper and Nouvelle Vague.
David Watson is an English record producer, singer and musician. Born and raised in North London, he has produced albums for Paul Wassif, Mark Abis, Sam Sallon, Dylan Howe and Claudia Brücken, and has worked with artists such as OMD, Rufus Wainwright, Neil Cowley, Beth Rowley, Eric Clapton and Bert Jansch. He is the father of actress Indica Watson.
Walking on Cars was a four-piece Irish rock band, whose 2020 line-up consisted of Pa Sheehy (singer/lyricist), Sorcha Durham (pianist), Paul Flannery and Evan Hadnett (drummer). Their debut single "Catch Me If You Can", released in 2012, went to No. 1 on the Irish iTunes chart. The band released their debut EP, As We Fly South, in 2013, and a second one, Hand in Hand, in (2014), together with the accompanying single "Always Be with You". Their next single, "Speeding Cars", came out on 30 October 2015. Following the international success of the single, the band released their debut album Everything This Way on 29 January 2016, which peaked at No. 1 in Ireland. On 12 April 2019, the band released their second album Colours.
The Rails is an English folk rock duo from London, England, composed of husband and wife James Walbourne and Kami Thompson. Thompson and Walbourne first met during the recording sessions for Versatile Heart by Thompson's mother Linda Thompson in 2007. The band signed to Island Records in January 2014 and released their debut album on 5 May 2014 on the label's Pink Label imprint, the first band to do so since the 1970s.
Tide Lines are a four-piece folk pop band from the Highlands of Scotland. Cited in 2023 as one of the leading folk rock groups in Scotland, their musical style has been described as "anthemic, indie-folk".
