Seung Jo Kim is a South Korean aerospace engineer. He has been the current President of Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI) since June 2011,where the most of the national aerospace systems like aircraft,satellites and rockets are developed. During his tenure,Kim led the development of smart Unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV),the launch of KOMPSAT-3,KOMPSAT-5,STSat-3 and the first Korean space launch vehicle,Naro-1. Before becoming president of KARI,Kim had been a professor of the Engineering College at Seoul National University since 1986. He chaired the KSAS in 2009,the KSCM from 2005 to 2006,and the KSIAM from 2004 to 2008. He was also head of the New Aerospace Technology Research Institute from 2001 to 2003. Kim has been a fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) since 2010 and the Institute of Physics since 2004.
Kwang Soo Kim is a South Korean professor in chemistry,an adjunct professor in physics,and the director of Center for Superfunctional Materials (CSM),of Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST) in South Korea. He received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Applied Chemistry from Seoul National University and also an M.S. degree in Physics from Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) (1975). He obtained his Ph.D. degree from University of California,Berkeley (1982). His research fields include Theoretical/Computational Chemistry/Physics and Experimental Nanosciences.
The Institute for Basic Science is a Korean government-funded research institute that conducts basic science research and relevant pure basic research. Comprising approximately 30 research centers with more than 60 research groups across the nation and a headquarters in Daejeon,IBS has approximately 1,800 researchers and doctoral course students. Byoungho Lee was a South Korean scientist best known for his work on three-dimensional displays and nanophotonics. From 1994 until his death,he was on the faculty of the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of Seoul National University. He and his research group published more than 400 peer-reviewed international journal papers,more than 700 international conference papers,and more than 20 books and book chapters. His accumulated citations are over 23,000 and his h-index is 75. At the time of his death,he was the dean of the Engineering College of Seoul National University.

Choi Ki-young,also known as Kiyoung Choi,is a South Korean professor of electrical engineering at Seoul National University who served as Minister of Science and ICT under President Moon Jae-in from 2019 to 2021.

Hur Woong or Huh Woong was a scholar of the Korean language and linguistics. He was a key figure in establishing Korean linguistics as a field of research in South Korea,and in combining the study of the Korean language with the study of linguistics. Hur Woong’s tenure as the president of the Korean Language Society,spanning over three decades until his passing,highlights the significance that his dedication and leadership had within the field of Korean linguistics.
Young-min Kwon is a South Korean literary scholar and poet. He is known for his works on the historical and Modern Korean literature and criticism. His works primarily focuses on the works of Yi Sang (이상) and Han Yong-un (한용운). Kwon has contributed to the popularization and globalization of Korean literature. As a visiting professor,he taught Korean language and literature at Harvard University (1985–1986),Berkeley University (1992–1995),and the University of Tokyo (1999–2000). Also,he co-authored the textbook What is Korean Literature? in collaboration with Bruce Fulton from the University of British Columbia,one of his well-known works. What is Korean Literature? is the first Korean literature textbook translated into English.
