Jittery Joe's is a chain of coffeehouses based in Athens, Georgia. In 1994, the first Jittery Joe's opened in downtown Athens. There are nine locations in Athens and one in each of the Georgia cities of Watkinsville, Atlanta, Bethlehem, and St. Simons. [1]
The inspiration for the name "Jittery Joe's" came from an episode of The Simpsons in which Marge visits a diner with that name ("Marge on the Lam," which first aired on November 4, 1993). The founders discovered that "Jittery Joe's" wasn't trademarked, so they adopted it as the brand label of their coffee company. [2]
Jittery Joe's expanded into the New York market in August 2009, opening a shop next door to the Laboratory Institute of Merchandising (LIM). [3] Drawing acclaim from the New York Times within a month of opening, the store instantly became a Midtown favorite. [4] The store closed in January 2013.
Jittery Joe's occasionally collaborates with local artists, such as with the recording of Jeff Mangum's album Live at Jittery Joe's and releasing lines of coffee for Kishi Bashi [5] and Widespread Panic. [6] Along with music artists, Jittery Joe's has partnered with several other local Athens businesses, such as Terrapin Beer Company, BikeAthens, and Kindercore Vinyl to create custom coffee blends. In December 2016, the company partnered with the local group Extra Special People to create Java Joy, a program to provide people with disabilities opportunities in the workforce. [7] Jittery Joe's began teaching participants how to roast and serve coffee in 2018, then provided a mobile coffee cart which the employees use to serve the brand's coffee while engaging with local communities and events. Jittery Joe's sponsors a UCI Continental team consisting of professional and amateur riders that compete primarily in USA Cycling Professional Tour and UCI America Tour road bicycle racing events. [9]
The company served as the premier title sponsor of the Jittery Joe’s Pro Cycling Team powered by Zero Gravity, which competes in road bicycle racing events throughout the United States and has raced internationally in Australia and South Africa. In 2008, after failing to secure a secondary sponsor, the team dropped from pro to amateur status. [10]
The Tour Down Under is a cycling race in and around Adelaide, South Australia, and is traditionally the opening event of the UCI World Tour and features all 19 UCI WorldTeams. It also runs as a UCI Women's ProSeries event and features a one-day circuit race as a 'prelude' to the main race.
The 2006 Tour de Georgia was a six-stage race held April 18 through April 23, 2006 with the overall title won by Floyd Landis of the Phonak. American Fred Rodriguez (Davitamon–Lotto) claimed the points jersey for sprinters. Jason McCartney won his second KOM crown; he previously won the 2004 climbers title. McCartney's teammate Janez Brajkovič won the Best Young Rider competition. Celebrity bike riders from Mountain Home, Arkansas, Gary and Zach Beck, made cameo appearances at the fifth stage to the Brasstown Bald and the final stage to Alpharetta.
The 2004 Tour de Georgia was the second annual bicycle road racing event held in the state of Georgia, United States. The six-day, seven stage 1050 km race was held April 20 through April 25, 2004 with no winner declared for the overall title and yellow jersey, following the disqualification of the first-placed rider for using illegal drugs and practices to win. Canadian Gord Fraser claimed the points jersey for sprinters, while teammate Jason McCartney won the King of the Mountains competition for climbers. Kevin Bouchard-Hall (TIAA-CREF) won the Best Young Rider competition.
The 2005 Tour de Georgia was the third annual bicycle road racing event held in the state of Georgia, United States. The six-day, six stage 550 mile (1033.4 km) race was held April 19 through April 24, 2005 with the overall title and yellow jersey won by Tom Danielson of the Discovery Channel. However, Danielson in 2012, was disqualified due to doping, along with a number of other riders. This left the first non-disqualified rider as Floyd Landis.
Trent Lowe is a professional road bicycle racer from Australia. He rode for Garmin–Transitions on the UCI ProTour from 2008 to 2010. Lowe was one of only two Australians on the Slipstream Squad, the other being Chris 'CJ' Sutton who came from Cofidis in 2007. The former full-time professional mountain biker had a breakthrough year on the road in 2005 riding for the US domestic team, Jittery Joe's, where he caught eye of Discovery Channel sports manager Johan Bruyneel. He was signed for Discovery Channel for his superior climbing abilities. In 2002 he won the UCI MTB World Junior XC Championship, then he won the under-23 Australian National Mountain Bike Championship in 2003 and 2004.

Rock Racing was a cycling team founded in 2007 by Michael Ball. The team is affiliated with Ball's Rock & Republic clothing line. Rock Racing received media attention for hiring outcasts in the sport, including those tainted by performance-enhancing drug scandals. The team's "bad boy image" was furthered by the design of the team kits, and its motto was "Here to stay" which may have served to incite the anti-doping efforts of the time.

The team's title sponsor was Cervélo, a Canadian manufacturer of bicycle frames that previously exclusively supplied CSC–Saxo Bank. They competed in 2010 as a UCI Professional Continental team, but folded after the season.

He was a founding member of Jupiter One and, for a few years, was a member of the band of Montreal. He embarked on his career as a solo artist in 2011, releasing his debut album 151a at Joyful Noise Recordings in 2012 to immediate fanfare and critical acclaim.

Hincapie–Leomo p/b BMC was an American cycling team focusing on road bicycle racing. The team was developed by former professional racing cyclist George Hincapie, and was managed by Rich Hincapie with assistance from directeur sportif Thomas Craven. The team was founded as a junior development team known as Hincapie–Holowesko Partners. It joined the UCI Continental Tour in partnership with UCI ProTour team BMC Racing Team in 2012.
