John Bayes Norton (November 27, 1899 – November 24, 1987) was an American water polo player who competed in the 1924 Summer Olympics. [1] He died in Lebanon, Pennsylvania. In 1924, he won the bronze medal with the American water polo team. He played three matches and scored three goals. [2]
Water polo has been part of the Summer Olympics program since the second games, in 1900. A women's water polo tournament was introduced for the 2000 Summer Olympics. Hungary has been the most successful country in men's tournament, while the United States is the only team to win multiple times at the women's tournament since its introduction. Italy was the first to win both the men's and women's water polo tournaments.
Otto Wahle was an Austrian-American swimmer who took part in two Summer Olympic Games and won a total of three medals. Wahle coached the men's US swim team at the 1912 Olympics, and the men's US water polo team at the 1920 and 1924 Olympics.

Charles Sydney Smith was born in Wigan, the ninth of eleven children born to Thomas Smith and Elizabeth née Sayer. He was a British water polo player who competed as goalkeeper for the England Water Polo team which won gold medals in the London games of 1908, and the Stockholm games of 1912. After the Great War he returned, at the age of 44, as part of the Great Britain team to win a third gold medal at the Antwerp games in 1920. He was still in the team four years later competing in the Paris games of 1924 where the team was knocked out in the first round by the Hungarian team after extra time.
Joseph Pletincx was a Belgian water polo player. He competed at the 1908, 1912, 1920, and 1924 Summer Olympics and won three silver and one bronze medals, becoming one of eight male athletes who won four or more Olympic medals in water polo.

James Wallace O'Connor was an American competition swimmer and water polo player for Stanford University who played internationally for the United States at four Olympiads: at the 1924, 1928, 1932 and 1936. He won a gold medal in the 1924 Paris Olympics for swimming in the world record setting U.S. 4x200 freestyle relay, and took home a bronze medal for Water Polo in both the 1924 and 1932 Olympics. He is rated by many sports historians as the greatest American Water Polo player of all time.
George Edward Schroth was an American water polo player who competed in the 1924 Summer Olympics and in the 1928 Summer Olympics. He was born in Sacramento, California and died in Los Molinos, California.

Jakob Frederik "Sjaak" Köhler was a Dutch water polo player and swimmer. He finished in seventh and fifth place with the Dutch water polo team at the 1924 and 1928 Olympics; at both Games he played three matches and scored four and two goals, respectively. In 1924 he also competed in two freestyle swimming events, but failed to reach the finals. His cousin Koos played water polo alongside Sjaak at the 1928 Olympics.
