Knoxville is a city in and the county seat of Knox County,Tennessee,United States. As of the 2020 United States census,Knoxville's population was 190,740,making it the largest city in the East Tennessee Grand Division and the state's third largest city after Nashville and Memphis. Hugh Lawson White was a prominent American politician during the first third of the 19th century. Neyland Stadium,is a sports stadium in Knoxville,Tennessee,United States. Charles Henry "Kippy" Brown is an American football former coach and former player who most recently was the wide receivers coach for the Seattle Seahawks of the National Football League (NFL). He was a college-level starting quarterback for Memphis and coached in various capacities at both the college and professional levels of American football. He retired in May 2015.
Margaret Elizabeth Crozier French was an American educator,women's suffragist and social reform activist. Andrew David Holt was an American educator who was the 16th president of the University of Tennessee,filling that position from 1959 to 1970.

John Harcourt Alexander Morgan was a Canadian-American entomologist,educator,and agricultural expert,who served as president of the University of Tennessee from 1919 until 1934. In 1933,he was appointed to the inaugural board of the Tennessee Valley Authority,with which he remained until 1948,including three years (1938–1941) as chairman. In both capacities,he promoted a philosophy known as "the common mooring," which stressed a harmonious relationship between man and the environment,and consistently worked to introduce more efficient and less destructive farming techniques in the Tennessee Valley.

Anming Hu is a Chinese-Canadian academic who worked as an associate professor in the Department of Mechanical,Aerospace and Biomedical Engineering at the University of Tennessee,Knoxville (UTK) from 2013 to February 2020 when he was charged with fraud,after which UT suspended him.
