Johnpaul George is an Indian script writer, film director and Film Producer active in the Malayalam film industry. [1] He is best known for his debut film Guppy , which was released in August 2016.

Personal life

Johnpaul George was born to K.V George and Reethamma George in Kottayam, Kerala. He graduated with a Bachelor of Performing Arts (B.P.A.), vocal in music, from Swathi Thirunal College of Music, Thiruvananthapuram.

Film career

He started his film career as a chief assistant director in the 2011 Rajesh Pillai–directed movie Traffic. Later, he was the associate director for Sameer Thahir in the following movies: Chaappa Kurishu , 5 Sundarikal , and Neelakasham Pachakadal Chuvanna Bhoomi . He also worked as the production partner of E4 Entertainment from 2013 to 2016. He made his directorial movie debut through the Malayalam movie Guppy , which was released in August 2016. [2] His second malayalam film Ambili was released on 2019. [3] He is also the producer of Romancham , which was released in February 2023. [4]

<i>Romancham</i> 2023 Indian Malayalam comedy horror film

Romancham (transl. Goosebump) is a 2023 Indian Malayalam-language comedy horror film directed by Jithu Madhavan in his directorial debut and produced by Johnpaul George, Girish Gangadharan and Joby George under the banner of Guppy Films and Johnpaul George Productions. Based on a real life incident faced by the director and his friends during their college days, the film stars Soubin Shahir, Arjun Ashokan, Sajin Gopu, Siju Sunny, Abin Bino, Anantharaman Ajay and Afsal P.H. Set in Bangalore, the plot revolves around seven unmarried men and their usage of an Ouija board, which leads to various subsequent events. The music was composed by Sushin Shyam, while the cinematography and editing were handled by Sanu Thahir and Kiran Das.

Mashar Hamsa is an Indian costume designer from Kerala, who works in the Malayalam films. He started his career as a film costume designer in 2013 with the movie Neelakasham Pachakadal Chuvanna Bhoomi. As of April 2023, Mashar has designed costumes for more than 30 Malayalam films. He is a recipient of 2020 Kerala Film Critics Association Awards for best costume designer for the movie Trance.
