Jonathan Chik Gei-yee is a Hong Kong television producer, director, and writer. Chik joined TVB in 1976 as a production assistant. He was an assistant for Kam Kwok-leung, who supported his career. In the early 1990s, Chik left TVB to work as a producer for ATV. Promoted to executive producer, he returned to TVB in 1994. He remained as a producer for TVB until 2012.
Asia Television Limited is a digital media and broadcasting company in Hong Kong. Established as the first television service in Hong Kong as Rediffusion Television on 29 May 1957, it shifted to terrestrial television on 30 November 1973, and was renamed Asia Television on 24 September 1982. The TVB Anniversary Awards, officially known as the TV Awards Presentation of TVB, is an annual awards ceremony honoring TVB's programming achievements in Hong Kong television; despite claims that it is the region's equivalent to the American Emmy and the Australian Logie, no other networks are allowed to enter their programmes into TVB competition, and it is awarded solely to TVB programming. Winners are awarded a copy of the golden TVB anniversary statuette, which depicts a man and a woman holding up TVB's square logo. The TVB Anniversary Awards are only one of three TVB awards given out. The other two types of TVB awards that are given out before the anniversary awards are: TVB Star Awards Malaysia and StarHub TVB Awards (Singapore). This award is usually reserved to be one of the last presented, and is considered to be one of the most premier awards of the ceremony.
When Heaven Burns is a 2011 Hong Kong television serial produced by TVB and starring Bowie Lam, Moses Chan, Charmaine Sheh, Maggie Shiu and Kenny Wong. First revealed during TVB's Sales Presentation 2009 in 2008, filming took place in late 2009 to early 2010, with the first episode airing both in Hong Kong and TVB's overseas affiliates and partners on 21 November 2011. On 27 December 2011, the show was blacklisted by the Chinese State Administration of Radio, Film, and Television, making it the first Hong Kong television drama to be censored in Mainland China in more than two decades.
