Jordan Semedo Varela (born 15 January 2003) is a French professional footballer who plays as a left-back for Bulgarian First League club Slavia Sofia.
Born in Nice, Semedo began his youth career playing for local team Cavigal Nice Sports before joining the AS Monaco academy in 2017. [4] [5]
In June 2023, Semedo joined Cercle Brugge on a one-year loan deal. [1] [5] He made his professional debut on 30 July 2023, in Cercle Brugge's 0–1 defeat against Royal Antwerp. [6]
Semedo is eligible to play for France and Cape Verde but chose to represent France internationally.
In 2022, he participated in the 2022 UEFA European Under-19 Championship with France under-19s. He started in three out of four matches, as France was defeated by Israel in the semi-finals. [7]
In May 2023, he was selected with France under-20s for the FIFA World Cup. [4] [8] Semedo appeared as the starting left-back in all three group stages matches but France failed to advance to the knockout stage. [9]
