Joseph Eberendu Ahaneku (born October 1,1962) is an academic and Consultant Chemical Pathologist of Nnamdi Azikiwe University,Awka,Nigeria. [1] Ahaneku is a former Vice Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University,Awka (Monday 26 May 2014 - Wednesday May 2019). [2] [3] He is from Nnarambia Ahiara Ahiazu Mbaise,Imo State,Nigeria. [4]
Joseph started his Education at St. Joseph's Primary School Eke-Nguru,where he received his primary school leaving certificate.[ citation needed ] He proceeded to Mbaise Secondary School,Aboh-Mbaise,where he received his secondary school leaving certificate.[ citation needed ] He attended University of Ibadan where he got his first Degree (BSc) and later his PGD in University College Hospital. There he also earned his MSc. He later completed his PhD at Ibadan and Institute of Biology London,Cboi.[ citation needed ]
Ahaneku joined Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital,Nnewi in 1991 as a lecturer 1 [ citation needed ]. In 1992 he became a consultant chemical pathologist. In 1992 he became a senior lecturer [ citation needed ]. In 1994 he reached Professor [ citation needed ]. In 1997 he was the national vice-president of the Nigerian Association of Clinical Chemists [ citation needed ]. He worked as a research fellow for the Department of Biochemistry and Cell Biology and foreign research fellow of the Department of Biochemistry Saga Medical School,Saga Japan [ citation needed ]. From 1995 to 1996 he was senior research scientist and professorial fellow of Second Department of Physiology and as the visiting researcher of South-West Medical Research Foundation,San Antonio,Texas [ citation needed ]. He was the staff and head of department for the Department of Chemical Pathology and sub-dean of the School of Postgraduate Studies,Nnamdi Azikiwe University,Awka [ citation needed ]. From 2001 to 2003 he was the chairman of the board of trustees of O.M Okonkwo foundation and Demlaz Group of Companies and an executive member of Mbaise Frontline Circle also the executive director of JG ventures and rental services. In 1992 the Science and Technology Agency of Japan awarded him a fellowship and grant [ citation needed ]. He was also awarded in 1994 for promotion of science in Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) [ citation needed ]. He earned a second fellowship and grant in 1997 [ citation needed ]. In 1996 he was awarded a Pfizer Health Research Foundation (Japan) Research Publication grant [ citation needed ].
He has published over 52 scientific papers.[ citation needed ]
Joseph Ahaneku is married to Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Gladys I. Ahaneku mni and has five children namely;Chibueze Ahaneku,Chinaza Ahaneku,Chimeremeze Ahaneku,Chukwumaijem Ahaneku and Chijindu Ahaneku. [7]
The University of Nigeria,commonly referred to as UNN,is a federal university located in Nsukka,Enugu State,Eastern part of Nigeria. Nnamdi Azikiwe University,Awka,fondly called UNIZIK, is a federal university in Nigeria. It consists of two campuses in Anambra State. Its main campus is in Awka,while its other campus is in Nnewi. There are also other campuses of Nnamdi Azikiwe University,Awka. These include Agulu in Anaocha local government area and Ifite-Ogwuari in Ayamelum local government area in Anambra State. This makes Nnamdi Azikiwe University to operate in the three Senatorial Districts in Anambra State,Nigeria having Awka campus,in Anambra Central Senatorial District,Nnewi in Anambra South Senatorial District and Ifite-Ogwuari in Anambra North Senatorial District,respectively.

Cyril Agodi Onwumechili was a Nigerian physicist,academic administrator,and professor of geophysics at the University of Ibadan and later University of Nigeria,Nsukka. He was the fourth Vice Chancellor of the University of Ife from January 1979 to December 1982 and the former President/Vice Chancellor of the Anambra State University of Technology,Enugu,Nigeria,from January 1983 to December 1986. He delivered the Ahiajoku lecture on 20 November 2000. He was the first Nigerian geophysicist and the second president of the Nigerian Academy of Science. He was elected as president of the Academy in 1979 to succeed Professor Victor Adenuga Oyenuga,the first emeritus professor of the University of Ibadan and the first African professor of Agricultural science.
Dr. Nkem Okeke is a Nigerian Politician who was the Deputy Governor of Anambra State from 17 March 2014 to 17 March 2022 He first served as Anambra State Commissioner for Economic Planning,and again as Anambra State Commissioner for Works and Transport in the administration of Governor Peter Obi and later went back to immerse himself in academia as Lecturer and Head of Department of Economics at Nnamdi Azikiwe University,Awka.
Joy Chinwe Eyisi is a Nigerian professor,author,scholar,educationalist,and philanthropist of Igbo descent. Between 2006 and 2011,she was head of department,English Language and Literature,Faculty of Arts,Nnamdi Azikiwe University,(NAU),Awka,Anambra State. She is now deputy vice-chancellor (academic) of National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN),a position she assumed on 26 October 2017. Eyisi,who was hitherto the centre director of NOUN's Study Centre in the National Assembly in Abuja,emerged winner of the election held by the University Senate on 25 October 2017. She succeeds Professor Patrick Eya as the university's first female deputy vice-chancellor (academic).

Frank Nwachukwu Ndili was the 1st Nigerian Nuclear Physicist and the 7th Vice Chancellor (President) of the University of Nigeria,Nsukka. He served as Vice Chancellor (President) of the University of Nigeria,Nsukka from 1980 until he was succeeded by professor Chimere Ikoku in 1985. He left the office after a long and controversial investigation by the panel of inquiry. However,he is believed to have been forthright even where his predecessor Umaru Shehu (1978-1979) threaded carefully. During Professor Ndili's Vice-Chancellorship,effort was undertaken for the first time to rebuild and refurbish the University of Nigeria following its devastation by the Nigerian Civil War. Ndili envisioned that the University would be destined for world-class status and designed a Master Plan to that effect. Today,the grand University entryway,the Nnamdi Azikiwe Library,the School of General Studies,and the Faculty of Arts Complex stand as testimony to his grand vision.

Chinyere Stella Okunna is the first female professor in Mass communication in Nigeria.
