Joseph P. Stremlau (March 24, 1892–September 26, 1970) was an American farmer, businessman, and politician.
Stremlau was born in Peru, Illinois and went to the parochial schools. He lived with his wife and family on a farm near Mendota, Illinois. He was involved with the Peterstown Farmers Elevator Company and served as the manager. He also served as a deputy sheriff for LaSalle County, Illinois and also worked for The Illinois Oil Inspection Division. Stremlau worked a deputy collector for the Bureau of Internal Revenue of the United States Treasury Department. Stremlau was involved with the farmers union and was a Democrat. He served in the Illinois House of Representatives from 1949 to 1967. Stremlau died in Mendota, Illinois. [1] [2]

In politics, he represented Grant County for five years in the Wisconsin Legislature, and was a delegate to Wisconsin's 2nd constitutional convention in 1847.
Alfred Miles Jones, nicknamed "Long" Jones, was an American politician and businessman. Born in New Hampshire, Jones came with his family to Illinois in 1847. Jones became a prominent politician in Jo Daviess County, Illinois, eventually rising to deputy sheriff and the leader of the county chapter of the Republican Party. He was elected to two terms in the Illinois House of Representatives, then received two positions under the spoils system. Jones was chairman of the Illinois Republican Committee for twelve years. In the 1880s, he assumed control of the Bethesda spring in Waukesha, Wisconsin, and helped turn it into one of the most prominent spring water companies in the nation. He moved to Waukesha in 1896 and was elected to the Wisconsin State Senate three years later, serving one term.
