Joshua Heuston (born 18 November 1996) is an Australian actor. [1] He is best known for his roles in the Australian television series Dive Club (2021), More Than This, Heartbreak High and Bali 2002 (all three 2022); as well as for his work in modelling.

Early life and education

Heuston was born and raised in Sydney,[ citation needed ] and is of Anglo-Sri Lankan descent. [2]

Career

Modelling

Heuston was working as a bartender during first year at university when he was scouted to be a model. [3] [4] After some thought, he explored photography and style then started seriously posting to Instagram and YouTube where he quickly became a sought after content creator. [3] [4] Heuston has worked on campaigns for major brands such as Fendi, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, David Jones and Burberry among many others. [1] [3] [4] [5] He was invited to sit in the front row of the Milan and Shanghai catwalk for Tommynow Drive by Tommy Hilfiger and did a meet and greet for the brand in Sydney. [4] [6] [7] [8]

In 2018, he made his Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia debut walking for the brand 'Justin Cassin'. [4]

In 2020, Heuston was part of a campaign for Bumble in Australia where his dating profile was featured and encouraged "virtual dating" during the pandemic. [9]

Acting

Heuston stated that he was betrayed by his own shyness and never pursued drama while at school. [3] After featuring in the music video for Super Cruel's song "Sicklaced" with Cartia Mallan in 2017, [10] Heuston fell in love with acting and started classes. [3] [11]

Heuston's screen acting debut came in the Network 10 teen thriller series Dive Club , starring alongside Miah Maddern and Georgia-May Davis, which aired on Network 10 in Australia followed by an international Netflix release. [3] [12] [13] The series is set in the fictional seaside town of Cape Mercy and focuses on a group of school girl ocean divers. Heuston plays the part of Henry, the towns resident sad boy with a heart of gold. [3] The series was filmed on the Great Barrier Reef in Port Douglas, Queensland. [1]

Heuston had a small non-speaking role in Thor: Love and Thunder as a Zeus Pretty Boy. [14] He plays Dusty in Heartbreak High (2022present), a Netflix reboot of the 1990s series of the same name. [15] In December 2022, it was announced that Heuston has been cast as Constantine Corrino in the 2024 HBO Dune prequel television series, Dune: Prophecy . [16]

The Dune prequel series is a sequence of novel trilogies written by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson. Set in the Dune universe created by Frank Herbert, the novels take place in various time periods before and in between Herbert's original six novels, which began with 1965's Dune. In 1997, Bantam Books made a $3 million deal with the authors for three Dune prequel novels, partially based upon notes left behind by Frank Herbert, that would come to be known as the Prelude to Dune trilogy. Dive Club is an Australian teen drama television series, which premiered on 10 Shake from 29 May 2021 as a movie-length special. The series was distributed worldwide on Netflix on 3 September 2021. It follows a feisty group of teen divers who race to find their best friend when she disappears after a storm hits their small coastal town. There is no season two yet.

Lalaland is an Amsterdam-Based Dutch tech startup that creates artificial intelligence based virtual models for e-commerce, founded in 2019 by Michael Musandu and Ugnius Rimsa. In 2022 it would win the Tommy Hilfiger Fashion Frontier Challenge. Then in 2022 its founders would join the European Forbes 30 under 30 list as well as Levi Strauss & Co. announcing a partnership with the company.

Heartbreak High is an Australian comedy drama television series created for Netflix, by Hannah Carroll Chapman. It is a soft reboot of the 1994 series first screened on Network Ten. The series follows the students and teachers of Hartley High as they navigate racial tensions in Australia, high school romances, and all sorts of teen angst. It features an ensemble cast including Ayesha Madon, Thomas Weatherall, Bryn Chapman Parish, Asher Yasbincek, James Majoos, Chloé Hayden, Will McDonald, Gemma Chua-Tran, Sherry-Lee Watson, Josh Heuston, Brodie Townsend, Chika Ikogwe, Scott Major and Rachel House.
